The guys at In Range TV have been working on a project called What Would Stoner Do? (WWSD) For the better part of this year, I have been following it religiously and found it to be informative and entertaining.

The basic premise if the WWSD project as I understand it is as follows.

If Eugene Stoner had avalible all of the current crop of AR product development and technology, what parts would he use to achieve his initial design goals with the early 1960's AR-15. A 6lb, handy, short, accurrate rifle, chambered in an intermediate cartridge.

I have my bones to pick with some of their analysis, but largely agree with their premise, methods of testing and evaluation, as well as their reached conclusions.

The project is still ongoing and is evolving constantly. I've linked a playlist I've created with all of the WWSD videos, as well as some additional related videos. Let me know what you think guys.

I think it’s all irrelevant. People put so much crap on their rifles these days you’ll never see a six pound rifle. I think Eugene wouldn’t build it much different today than he did back then. Although maybe he might have gone with a different caliber.
