While there are dozens of groups running about in our great nation exclaiming how horrible things are, most every member on this site knows things aren't nearly as bad as those others would have us believe.
Today is the day that we Americans pause to reflect on our many blessings, even if we face hardships as well. We are a family here and I count each of you among my blessings.
So, I'd like to wish all of you, my extended family, a very happy and blessed Thanksgiving.
Be safe, be filled with the spirit as immensely as you'll soon be filled with a "feast", whether it be turkey, ham, steak or even ramen, and remember all you have to be thankful for.
Bless you all.

May you all have a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving. Just a couple of hours until dinner. :-)
Happy Thanksgiving.
I am looking forward to prime rib, pumpkin pie, a little bit of work, some range time, and some exercise on a beautiful 70 degree day.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
I'm helping feed employees out at the airport last night and today, sucks to work on holidays, but maybe part of what I'm doing helps it suck less for them. :)
Have an awesome day with your loved ones.

This is a special Thanksgiving for me.
I have more to give thanks for than ever....
That my wife's breast cancer was caught very early, that of the shit show cancer can be she had the "best" type of cancer to get (if there is such a thing), that the lumpectomy was very successful with minimal scarring, that she is tolerating radiation well, that she is 2/3rds through it, that my best friend of 35 years is ok, that my wife of 30 years is ok.
Thankful is an understatement.
Happy Thanksgiving to all

Thanksgiving Proclamation [New York, 3 October 1789]
By the President of the United States of America. a Proclamation.
Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor—and whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me “to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.”
Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be—That we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks—for his kind care and protection of the People of this Country previous to their becoming a Nation—for the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of his Providence which we experienced in the course and conclusion of the late war—for the great degree of tranquillity, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyed—for the peaceable and rational manner, in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national One now lately instituted—for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed; and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and in general for all the great and various favors which he hath been pleased to confer upon us.
and also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech him to pardon our national and other transgressions—to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually—to render our national government a blessing to all the people, by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed—to protect and guide all Sovereigns and Nations (especially such as have shewn kindness unto us) and to bless them with good government, peace, and concord—To promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the encrease of science among them and us—and generally to grant unto all Mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as he alone knows to be best.
Given under my hand at the City of New-York the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789.

Bah. Got our turkey thawed and unwrapped, motherfucker was ROTTEN! Had to go get another one, scrub everything it had touched, and start over. Now we're behind.
At least King Soopers gave me another one, sight unseen, no questions asked.
Pew, stinkin' bastard.....
Be thankful. I am. Not just today but everyday you have the ability to stand up, to breath easily, to know that we are free.
I am blessed and thankful.
Be safe.

Last year I bought an extra turkey from King Soopers which has been kept frozen in my deep freeze ever since. I do this when I get decent prices on turkeys. At 6pm last night I took the thawed turkey out of the bag and noticed a not-quite-so-right smell from it. Never had this happen before. I had to toss it & ran to King Soopers and picked up a 20lb frozen Butterball. I used the quick thaw water method on this thing overnight (got no sleep since I had to keep draining it and adding new cold water to it). The good news is that I got it thawed and it was ready for me to roast it today - thankfully we weren't eating until 6pm this year. The Butterball was excellent and the other turkey is currently in triple bags out on the curb awaiting trash pickup tomorrow. Thanksgiving saved!
