Me + Methylprednisolone = absolutely no sleep, at least that is the only side effect screwing with me. Back feels better though for now. Regular anti inflammatory meds, stretching, rest and whatever else I tried my back was absolutely killing me for months. A short course of steroids and it feels much better for now. Hopefully it is not just masking my issues but is giving whatever has irritated my back time to recover and disappear. Had an MRI on Monday that "showed no obvious issues that would match patients symptoms - refer to Neurologist"

Yeah, not uncommon. Hope you get this figured out.
One of the other fun side effects is wanting to eat everything in sight. It can also cause a significant rise in blood sugar levels.
But the one thing I hate the most, especially when prescribed a "dose pack" where you take high levels at the beginning and taper off, is the crash at the end. Not fun.
Hope your back heals up!

That stuff works wonders on my dog. He will eat all day if allowed, and goes through water like he's never had any before. He does crash a bit at the end of a course though.

That stuff keeps me awake also, and can't sit still. I decided to make the most of the situation and my wife helps put together a long to-do list for me to knock out over the sleepless nights.

You're aware any time spent outside can cause serious sunburn, that stuff has the potential to become hypersensitive .
Normally I would say PT for sleep issues before meds, but it sounds like that's off the menu.
Hope you feel better.

Soaking in a natural hot springs always helps me.
I can't stop reading that as "Me + Methamphetamines = no sleep"

Um....that isn't normal for everyone?
Man, anymore, I hate taking ANY kind of drugs. I have a mini-drugstore of painkillers stashed away, several of which are highly desireable by druggies. But I just can't stand all the various side effects, particularly sleeping problems, wild dreams, and itching. Goddamn itching drives me nuts, which is a short drive.....

That's how I read it the first time too. Every thing that starts with "meth'' I assume its a stimulant of some sort. Thanks big Pharma.

uhh....
Have you tried melatonin? Ask your doctor, of course, but sometimes it can counter other medications and sleeplessness.
I'm sorry; I can't imagine how frustrating it must be not to be able to sleep.

Depends what drug and the persons sensitivity. Percocet as an example, is good for 2 things, horrendous nightmares and shitty ones. Others have no issue with them.

I don't use any drugs, and my dreams are off the chart.
Always have been since I was a kid. The ones floating up in the sky sucked the most.....up wasn't bad, but the coming back to earth part isn't something anyone should have to experience...sleeping or otherwise. I'm also not sure where that sets in the "quality sleep" scale. I was sleeping,.....yay.
:)
When I was a kid I had some pretty spectacular floating/falling dreams. I also had some spectacularly scary dreams. Then one day I said to myself, "They're my dreams, I should be in control of them." Ever since, I found myself soaring in my dreams like Superman and overpowering the scary stuff like a superhero.
The ones that really bother me now are when I've been building something all night, like a house. I wake up tired in the morning because I've been working all night. I keep telling myself that I should be getting paid to work in those dreams, but they're my dreams, so I'm working for my stingy self.

There must be something to controlling your own dreams that most folks are not capable of doing. I cannot, but it would be nice to do so.
I could go to sleep........and for 6/7 hours, be the king of the world. Getting laid with hotties, pissin money away on all kinds of stupid shit, being incredibly insane disregarding any responsibility and wake back up to reality.....working and paying bills.
Dreams.....*sigh*

I'm not sure how it works. I've never discussed my dreams as a young'un with my wife before. As we were going to sleep last night I mentioned my floating/falling dreams and my wife jumped right in with "Those are terrifying. I changed mine to flying."
