Today was family day for my older son's academy, they ran through a number of scenarios for all of us, very cool stuff. Graduation is next Friday, in the past 13 weeks they've passed 4 state certifications. Great instructors and a great group of trainees. At the end of demonstrations today they burned their trainee shirts and received their department shirts (4 different departments were in the academy). My son is the one on the far left, he'll be a fire/paramedic (already a paramedic, flight medic E6 and paramedic instructor).

That's fantastic! You must be very proud of him. Will he be working for South Metro?

Really cool!

Someone should have told them there was a fire behind them though...

You know civil servants these days, always looking for a photo op.

Doc, please pass along our congratulations and thanks to your son. Being an emergency first responder is nothing short of a calling - and your son has heard the call and jumped to it. You deserve to be very proud of your son.

Today his Guard unit had their annual holiday party-pj's mandatory dress code for the kids, it's a busy time for sure!
