View Full Version : Showdown at the UN
I would support Haley to run to become the first woman US President. She's kicking serious ass in the UN. With the latest move by Trump to move the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, there's a lot of ire from Palestine (still can't find that country on any atlas or map), and other countries, like Turkey. Now we're going to be "taking names" of those who vote against the US, and Trump is threatening to halt any funding to countries that vote against us, saying "we'll save a lot of money." I'm really liking this administration more and more than I had anticipated from last November!

I can only hope Trump follows through with his promise halt funding. The US has been foolish with its foreign aid spending for decades.

I won't be happy until the US is no longer a member of the UN ... and the UN is kicked out of New York ... and the building razed ... and the earth salted so that nothing will ever grow there again.

THIS!
Seriously, outside of telling people "Don't give anything, money, supplies or otherwise to XXXX country" (IE: sanctions) and sending strongly worded letters, what power does the UN really have? It's not like they have actually done much of anything except produce reports on bad actors. So many people think that if we were to withdraw from the UN we wouldn't have any allies anymore. Uh, no, they're not mutually exclusive.

I think being a part of the UN should be looked at like "keep your friends close and your enemies closer"... that's NOT how the Obama admin looked at the relationship, but it looks like Trump has the right idea.
I'd love for the UN to be dissolved- and maybe this kind of shakeup could be a catalyst that eventually leads to that.... but while they're meeting, we need to be at the table to make sure they're not doing this shit behind our back.
ETA: They can call it "votes for sale" if they want, but pulling funding that existed from a previous administrations is NOT the same thing as paying them to vote a certain way.... those payments probably started that way with the previous administrations.

Don't forget the regular rape their troops do, that's an accomplishment of theirs. Not a good accomplishment, but one nonetheless.

Oh that's right! I totally forgot about that. The only redeeming quality was the behavior exhibited by UN troops in Rwanda when they wanted to intervene in the genocide- of course Clinton and the other heads at the UN said "No, don't intervene, we don't want another Somalia." Which shows more ineptitude within the UN in "peacekeeping."

Between this and the EO... Wow.
Wars have been started over less.
Shhhh, don't tell anyone but before he was the President, Donald Trump made a lot of money in Manhattan real estate. Once the UN moves out of NYC, I believe President Trump will acquire the property and develop it into the most lavish of his many properties. It will be called Trump United Federated Stately Hotel International Tower. It truly will be his lasting message to all those people around the world who love the UN.
I am behind Haley all the way, the UN is a money pit we have been supporting for way too long. Screw them, they are nothing but a group of corrupt parasites.
I wonder if any of these jokers have heard of '....poking the bear'. What happened today will hurt the UN, like Ambassador Haley said.. "We will remember..."
VERY INTERESTING TIMES.

Put bars on the doors and I can think of some long term guests for his hotel.
Can we put up a sculpture of a big, fully functional, revolver?

+1/Like....hell yeah! They can't manage to maintain their own building in NY. They can go hang out in some shithole in the Middle East.

Just imagine what a magnificent buntline that revolver would have been without the barrel-knot faggotry.

Wheel guns, meh.
Put a Commie in front of it and we're talking.
Better yet, M1 Garand. Make them remember why they breathe free air. It sure as hell wasn't their feels that saved them. Ironic some of them legitimate historical quislings telling us what to do. "Fuck off" is fully appropriate.

UNITED NATIONS : With Rent Overdue, Bills Unpaid, Deadbeat Diplomats Get Scolding

UNITED NATIONS — Secretary General Boutros Boutros-Ghali is upset with deadbeat diplomats at the United Nations, who owe more than $7 million to landlords, banks, hospitals, hotels, service stations and other creditors in the New York area.
The embarrassing situation not only angers creditors, he says, but it handicaps other diplomats seeking apartments, medical care and other services.
Not much can be done about the problem aside from scolding. Various forms of diplomatic immunity make it difficult for creditors to put their hands on the money owed them.
In a report to the General Assembly, Boutros-Ghali said 32 of the 185 U.N. members are responsible for the indebtedness. Five of them account for almost $6 million of the total owed. But the problem gets worse every year. Total indebtedness has increased almost sixfold from 1990 to 1994.
and it has only gotten worse in the intervening 20 + years...

Diplomatic immunity is such a sham.
They can go be 'immune' on someone else's dime/soil.

As we all learned from Lethal Weapon 2, diplomatic immunity doesn't protect from bullets...

I've been trying to think of Anything really beneficial the UN has done, Anywhere in the world, Ever. Best I can think of is mine removal in parts of Afrika. Maybe.
Diplomatic immunity is such a sham.
