Do you have any goals for 2018 that you feel comfortable sharing here? Post them up!

Dropping 20 pounds (my life insurance will cost me $150 a month at my current weight, or $100 a month if I drop 12 pounds).
Clean out the basement, looks like a hoarders episode. Not really, but it still pretty bad.
Get to the range more.
Get to some outdoor ranges more.

Jeeze, I thought I set my goals high.

Crush my enemies -- See them driven before me, and to hear the lamentation of their women.

I just want to annoy my enemies, watch them wander around aimlessly in front of me and hear the bitching and complaining of their women.

I find that more modest goals are easier to achieve. ;)

I’m finally going to try and start eating healthy and exercising. I know pretty much everyone starts a similar journey at the beginning of the year but I intend to stick with it. The only reason I haven’t started already is because of the temptations of the holidays. My ultimate goal is to drop about twenty pounds and hopefully not feel so tired all the time.

Get in better shape (not round), and attempt to get from a size 34 waist back down to a size 32, and lose my stubborn belly fat (it's not bad, but I'd like my 6-pack back).
Get to the range more- maybe even try to get a top 3 finish in a bowling pin shoot. Trying out Bristlecone after the 1st of the year.
Maintain my expert qualification for my bi-annual quals (currently at a 96.5% and want to keep that number above 95%).
Quit chewing tabacci.
Bag a deer or elk next season (first time hunting).

I have worked hard, I am down to my 1998 weight. I would like to get another 20 to 25 pounds off which will get me to my 1975/76 weight. Where I am now I fit in my off road gear and I plan on getting my 1993 CR500 back on the trails come the spring. I really want to ride it again, now to see if I still can. The last time I rode her in anger was September of 1998. I pulled her out of mothballs 3 three years ago and after prepping she started up on the third kick. I properly prepped her for storage again so when it is time I will need new tires & tubes, rebuild the suspension, brakes and I am sure I will find more to do. I really should get a new helmet as my Bell Moto 3 is about 30 years old. I will need new goggles too come to think about it.

Yep, the big 2018 goal is to ride my Elsie again.

And not die trying!

1) I am going to continue losing weight. Had a good start at it the last few months (thanks Keto).
2) Going to hire a personal trainer to help with number 1.
3) Going to start shooting Steel Challenge again this year (never used to miss a match before we moved to CO)
4) I'm going to try an IDPA or USPSA match this year (With ZERO expectations - I'm not good at moving fast as my balance is all jacked after my stroke)
5) Cleaning out my office/reloading room. It's a mess.
6) I'm going to have more date nights with the wife.
7) If I am doing well on my top 6 I might steal Zundfolge's goal.

I’d really like to go camping in 18. Been awhile. I’d also really like to get out shooting more. It’s pretty damn sad but I think my wife and I got out shooting once this year. Most of all ? I’d really like to be a more positive person next year, not let people get to me as much and have a damn smile on my face more often. I have quite a few things to be pretty happy about,I need to realize that more often.

Clean up my diet and keep doing what I'm doing in the gym.

Getting to the range far more often is definitely on the list as well.

Get this house sold ASAP when it hits market after new year, and find my "retirement" home in AZ. Yeah I'll still have to work, but with little or no mortgage, I can have a shit job and pay the bills just fine AND do all the cool stuff that I want to do to my property/house.

I want a home that I can finally call MY home. Put the good sweat and tears into it because you know it's where you're going to hang your hat up for good.

Get out of the rental market by selling the other houses. Get the first one on the market and sold in January, then talk the tenants into buying the house they are in. Finish off the three rooms that need work in my house, then build a nice new deck to relax on the rest of the year.

First is to find a reliable contractor to do a major remodel of our little cabin. I want to pop up half the roof, add a garage, a new entry, larger bedroom, sunroom, hobby room and a utility room with a washer/dryer and a real furnace. I plan to replace the doors and most of the windows myself.

This past year I insulated the roof with polyiso panels and re roofed, which made a huge difference in our comfort. I rebuilt and insulated the septic tank and lines which had frozen the past two winters. Also replaced all the old junk 1950's furniture with very nice Scandinavian design pieces courtesy of Craigslist for less than $2K net. Big progress.

Also, I'd like to add a new lightweight hunting rifle, a Kimber Adirondak in 6.5 Creedmoor to pair with the Omega suppressor.

If you're in the metro area you shouldn't have any difficulty selling. Still a crazy seller's market out there.

Last year the wife and I had a long discussion about what we wanted for 2017. We had decided to either sink some serious money into our Englewood house (which my wife bought with her first husband when she was 18, in 1981) so it had more than one bathroom and some entertaining space, OR sell it and buy a new house. On Christmas day, we decided to sell rather than fix up, and I think that was the right call. 6 weeks later we moved into our new-to-us house in the Columbine area and immediately afterward we put our Englewood house up for sale.

It was on the market for 7 1/2 hours. [Wow1] At the end of the first day we had 3 full price offers, with financing done. And at a price that was well above what I thought it would have sold for.

Put the good sweat and tears into it because you know it's where you're going to hang your hat up for good.

When we moved into this home, we decided it had to have what we wanted without a lot of major modifications because we only plan on being here about 10 years. Once I'm able to retire, we're going to move someplace that is hopefully both cheaper to live and a little warmer. Right now NM is on the list. I also like Grand Junction. Wife loves Salida because she's a fly fisher but I think they still have pretty harsh winters there. Wherever we move after this is going to be our last move, at least that's my plan.

2- eat better to achieve number 1 goal
3- go back to the gym, been a few weeks since I went last
4- take more classes, here or traveling
5- take vacations with my daughter, meet my new godson
6- start saving money

My 2018 goals are simple (I hope):
Stay alive
Stay employed
Be the best husband, father and grandfather I can possibly be.

In no particular order:

- Get promoted at work.

- If the above happens, invest more into my TSP.

- If #1 doesn't happen, get my ducks in a row to put in for a transfer.

- Be a better husband.

- Be a better father.

My getting into shape goal is looking better and better- my family got me a rowing machine for Christmas- really feeling the love! I need something lower-impact for cardio since I hate running and have a bad knee. I never run with scissors... okay, those last two words were unnecessary.

Yeah, I've come up with a few... My wife found my list and started chuckling, which just makes me all the more motivated. This is the first time I've ever really written down what my goals for the coming (x) (year in this case) are, but the last few months have given me clarity in what needs to change:

Pesonal/Health:
Continue Keto. Did really well for 2 months, lost 39 pounds, and then spent 2 months traveling and working, and fell off the bandwagon. Back up 20 of those 39 pounds, but I want them gone again
Continue semi-regular visits to the chiropractor.
Get my teeth squared away.

Business:
Complete hiring the next member of the team.
Grow the business to support more than 2-3 people. I'm currently the only thing close to a sales person that we have, and I am a much better technical resource than salesman.
Diversify the company customer base across more vertical markets, eliminating more of the feast/famine cycle we currently have.
As possible, hire more employee's (has to be sustainable).

Household:
Continue my crusade to eliminate the proverbial "stuff"
Move my office to the basement
Turn the current office into my wife's sewing room (provide enough room for all the sewing machines and projects)
Tankless hot water heater
Repair trashed siding, repaint the house, who knows, may reside the house
Metal fence posts, and welded gate frames for the yard
Get the rest of the outdoor lighting and cameras wrapped up

Project/Hobbies:
Finish my 2011 build
Build the bolt action I have designed
Get my reloading bench actually completely back to functional
Make it to more matches (IDPA, 3 gun, and Precision Rifle)
Take a weekend road trip on the GSXR with some friends
Ride more in general

Yeah, there's a few others on there, but they don't make a lot of sense without being involved.
