Is there any value in an old Eagle Arms carbine with a Carry Handle upper? I am thinking the market for carry handle uppers has got to be way down, and my understanding is that EA has always been a budget rifle.
I have a friend who wants it, so I was going to move it along to him for cheap. I'm more worried about overcharging him than undercharging.
Same as any other used upper.
With new rifles going in the $400-$500 range, and as you mentioned Eagle Arms was more of a low budget rifle and fixed carry handles have become unpopular to the point where you just don't see them anymore, I'd likely offer it to your buddy for $400 and see what he says. Unless of course you'd rather just hang on to it for that price.

Thanks guys. It's amazing how low prices are right now. I considered holding onto it to see if I could sell it for real money during the next election scare.
We came to the same $400 value independently, so I don't think I'm too far off base. We'll probably end up agreeing on a little less than that, but that's fine.

This a complete rifle or just the upper? If it's the upper take what ever he offers you. If it's the complete rifle it's worth (depending on mfg date) between $700-1000 to people in the few states where 9/94 still holds.
I like carrying handle ARs. With a good trigger and a good barrel, they can be a very useful tool.

It's a complete rifle. Serial number in the low 8 thousand range. I had no idea some states were still under the 94 ban. That's good information, thank you.

If I am able to sell it in that price range, it would cover, or nearly cover, the cost of a suppressor. That would be excellent.

Browse gunbroker and gunsamerica. Or if you or anyone you know has an account over on ar-15.com Here's 1 listing.

I'd post the rifle on the CT & MA, possibly ME armslist

He's interested in it, true. He also knows I am going to do some research before I commit to selling it. He's simply looking for a good deal on a functional AR-15, he's not married to getting this one in particular. If it's not this one, I know where there are a few others in his price range. The EA was just a likely candidate for having a depressed value.
So don't worry, I'm not reneging on a deal or anything.
I have a few of the Pre Ban rifles listed on gunbroker saved to my watchlist so I can see what they actually sell for.

Throw it on line for $1000 delivered, buyer pays insurance and any FFL transfer fees. It moves or it doesn't, oddly those (if verifiable pre 9/94 mfg.) are the only AR's holding value.
OR offer the complete lower for X then do your friend right on the upper. You can make a real nice XM177 clone with it.
