I have a guy who wants to trade me a para expert carry. Reviews are that they’re great and that they’re terrible. It is a newer manufacture. I’m not a 1911 guy so I don’t know anything. Please enlighten me. My questions are specifically, are they good shooters, will I need to spend money to get it running well, if so how much, and, do they hold value well.
Thanks in advance for your experience.

From my personal experience and reading forums about Paras... you either get a great pistol or you get a lemon- not much in between. Where was it manufactured, Canada or the US? My Warthawg's frame cracked and I sold it for scrap metal. My friend had a Canada mfg Para and he sent it back to the factory twice to fix an extractor problem.

I always liked the warthog but read bad things just like this so passed. They used to pop up all the time but it has been awhile since I have seen one for sale. I recently just got back into the 1911 world last week and went with a Kimber Custom II Two tone for $599.

Many years ago a friend of mine had one that was a 14 round double stack, it ran great with range ammo, I did not like the feel of the grip. My only experience with a Para 1911 type for what it is worth.

Thanks guys, this isn’t what I wanted to hear, but my suspicions have been confirmed.

Two P-14 Limited's in my family, and they both run well. They really like my 200gr reloads, and have never had an issue with Critical Defense.

A friend of mine has a P-14 Limited that has had some issues, but with some tuning seems to run.

As with all firearms, they can be good or bad depending on the day the assembler is having...

Got one from member here cheap. Full size expert, assume your carry is smaller? Mine had some trigger upgrades done and had been fantastic, co workers jealous. Hasn't run anything but ball though as it's a range toy.

I had one a while back, the model was called Wild Bunch or something like that. It worked well for me, didn't have any issues. I like it well enough but sold it to get something else.
