I have an Iphone and looking to track some spending that I do with a couple different cards and locations mainly. I don't want it to be crazy and I don't want to actually link to my bank account. I just want to download something that I can add an expense into when I use a certain card or shop at a certain location. I have looked at a ton of apps tonight and can't find something that I like.
Any ideas?
YNAB (You Need A Budget) is going to be a big one, but still requires linking your bank account. That's also a paid program, but I think it's probably worth it.
If you just want to keep track, making a spread sheet in Excel would probably be easy (but not as easy as using Mint or YNAB).
Before you tell me how non-techy you are, designing an Excel spreadsheet is just a few Google searches away. That's how I do it.
iPhone... assuming you have Office subscription? Can just do an Excel sheet like Irving said.
There are also other programs in the App Store which provide this functionality without being subject to an office subscription

There are apps for what you want. There are lots, but you can start by checking out Expensify. They have a free plan that lets you scan up to 10 receipts per month. I'm sure there are totally free options, I just know this one is proven. This should help you search for alternatives. Try a google of "free Expensify alternative". I just don't have one to recommend as I only ever used Expensify for a time (for work).

If you just want to track spending, Mint is where it's at.

I actually hate Mint. I used to use it and I didn't like the setup at all.
Oh then you should try Basil.
Just kidding, I made that up. I'd ask what you didn't like about the Mint set-up, but I don't know anything else to recommend. I tried YNAB for 3 months free and couldn't get into it. I still recommend it because I see the potential though. I couldn't wrap my head around certain aspects of YNAB, but I chalk that up to a blind spot in the way my dumb grain works and assume that it's not a problem for most other people.
I like Mint because it's great at tracking interactions by your bank/credit card account, is easy to put spending into the appropriate category (which you can edit), and then it makes way to read charts for review. I don't like that Mint needs me to regularly re-enter account info to stay up to date, BUT I know it needs me to do that because my bank/credit card accounts make it difficult on purpose to protect my money.

I didn't like it because it always seemed to have an error with one or more accounts. I'd fix it, it would be fine, then another error a few days or couple weeks later. So I spent more time working on the program that I wanted to make life easier in seeing where money was going. Additionally I didn't think it was accurate to tell me when bills were due. And now no matter what I do I can't get them to stop sending me emails.

Same with Mint... it didn't like connecting to my bank... at all...

Am I sensing an opportunity for tech-minded developers here?
Nah, just my imagination running away!
