As the title states, anyone here a member on the akfiles.com forums? I can't seem to log on since yesterday morning. I keep getting an Authentication PopUp, but my username/password combo isnt working. I've tried every password I've ever used. Anyone experiencing this?

yep I have the same problem.
Me too. I posted the question this morning on ARFcom. Someone there posted there was a server crash and they are working it. I know the past couple of weeks they have been doing database management off and on and the site was down for several hours at a time. Maybe this is related?

Do they also have a Facebook page like we do? Ours is essentially unused, but when there are site issues we try to post them there so not everyone is left in the dark.
They've been having issues with the site last few days.

I follow the AK Operators Union Local 47-74 and have been very impressed with the amount of info and tests they do on multiple brands.
This was posted on their Facebook page. I didn't even think to check if they even had one!
"The site is offline temporarily. We are working to correct a hardware issue that has been causing database and connection issues over the past few weeks. We will be back online as soon as possible."

Thanks for the tip. I didn’t know that site existed!

looks like the site is back up.
Site is a great source for all things AK.
Just stay away from the general discussions there. It's a cesspool

I've bought or sold hard-to-find AK parts there.. better to sell there than to buy- they know what rare parts are worth!
I managed to get a Chinese AK trigger guard off ebay (of all places) for $63 shipped... I could turn around and sell it there fast for $125. (has a different # of rivets than European trigger guards)
now I need to dig up the rest of my MAK90 conversion to type56 parts since moving... only thing I'll still be missing is the FSB with bayo lug (I have a neutered one) and a spike bayonet.

You talking about a underfolding spiker bayonet for the chinese AK?
I bought a virgin one at a gunshow a few years back for ........................$35!
Turned around and sold it for around $350 on the AKfiles in 15 minutes with a sloppy seconds buyer waiting..... totally worth the $8 entrance fee!

That's the one... I'm going to build it with the neutered FSB, and if I can find a deal anywhere near close to what you did, I'll pick it up in a heartbeat, but I wouldn't go over $200... I know where I can get one for $260 now.

They've starting making USA reproductions of them last I heard.. Probably brought down the price of the real ones cause of it...
When I saw that sitting on the table at the GS I didn't hesitate to buy it.. I was probably the only knuckle head in that place that really new what it belonged to.

That's what I heard from the Rachael Ray of AKs...
interesting what does and doesn't draw attention at fun shows... I should try some here... they seem fixated on brand name revolvers- went to an auction here in Canton, and most expensive items were revolvers... but they were collectible Colts or Smiths. Most of rural TX is is only interested in AKs for one reason- price. They even put 1 or 2 precision ARs back, not meeting reserve. I didn't buy anything of significance (just some low-hanging ammo that wasn't a great deal)... but went to learn what was different here.
I've had a hard time finding a good source of reasonably priced firearms in East Texas... they tend to cling to their guns here... only thing I've bought recently was off Gunbroker, and shipped here- but $15 transfer, and my License to Carry was my Background Check... that was worth it alone.
To be honest, I'm itching to do a FTF sale just because I can... even a $400 Gen2 Glock was really interesting me... if not for the 2+ Hour drive.
+1. They are a vicious bunch over there in GD.
Personally I like the Akforum more for any ak related stuff. The files is a circus most times. Not what it use to be.
