Just picked up a S&W MP15-22 and want to put a red dot sight on it but don't want to break the bank. Wondering what you folks may be using or would recommend for a reasonable buy. Thanks in advance. [Beer]

On ARFCOM, a fellow named MARSH1 sells discount optics, would be just fine for a .22, methinks...

primaryarms.com (owned by MARSH1) sells firearm rated aimpoint clones in the $80-$100 price range. He has great customer service and fast shipping. I'd recommend him. His company has a forum on ar15.com under the industry tab: http://www.ar15.com/forums/forum.html?b=2&f=325

I have the Sig STS 081 red dot. Its pretty reasonable at around 160-180. http://www.topgunsupply.com/sig-sauer-red-dot-sts-081.html . Do a google search and you may find one cheaper or on gunbroker. It works pretty darn good.

I have one of these that I bought used a couple of weeks ago that I was going to mount on my 629DX but decided against it. It has the caps on it too, and the rings and mounts. I would let it go for $40 if you are interested.

In the optics world ya get what ya pay for, keep that in mind.

I would wait a month and get a reputable optic. It's gonna hurt the wallet but so will buying two "cheap" red dots when the first one breaks/wont hold zero etc.

Good lead on Primary Arms-thanks guys. Good product reviews and customer feedback. I think the M3 clone with high mount for $79 is perfect for application I'll use it for.
Seems like the holding zero was not a issue with users of this product and held up well and has a 1 year warranty by Marsh.
Thanks for the offer on the red dot but I figured $40 more for new and mount was the better way.
Thanks again guys ! [Beer]

I had a BSA it was ok held up for a long time. the only reason I don't have it was it fell off my table while i was cleaning something and broke

Got the M3 clone in the mail today. Looks like a good deal for the price, and to go on a .22 I think I made the right choice with your guys help. Thanks again. [Beer]

Yeah this looks like a good deal for the application I'm using it for. If it was a firearm my life was dependent on I'd feel different. $79 for clone and high mount was hard to pass up plus it came from a dealer with a good background. [Beer]
