Hey guys, I'm in the market for a older model pickup truck. The quick version, for those that have seen my Jeep, is that I have quite a bit of equity in my Rubicon and I'm going to sell it to buy an older pickup so that I can spend the next few years paying off some bills and getting my credit back in order. A truck would be very helpful for my family so I have been looking at roughly 10 year old trucks. I need full size (family), four wheel drive, and four door.
I know quite a bit about the Fords and Chevys and I used to own both. I've seen a few Nissan Titans pop up on the list. Does anyone have an older one that they can tell me about?

I've got an '08 Titan Long Bed Crew Cab.
The best thing about it are the wonderfully matched engine and transmission. Very smooth up and down the tach, towing or not, and engine breaking is fantastic. In ten years, no power train issues of any kind. Also, the Util-I-Track system is awesome. It's very well executed, and I can't imagine having another truck without something like it. You can use off-the-shelf Can-Truss and Uni-Strut components from Home Depot to mount damned near anything to anything.

The worst things generically are the abysmal gas mileage of the towing package gearing. 15.4 MPG upwind or down, towing or not, light foot or heavy. The interior plastics have also aged really poorly, and become brittle and crack-prone. On my Titan, it manifested as the valance panel by the defroster, which is now in three pieces, and the overhead console, which broke at the plastic brackets and finally annoyed me enough to replace this year.
My personal gripe is that I bought a long bed pickup that has a bed that stops at 7'8". Just like my wife told me, that 4" extra inches really makes a difference. I am reminded of it every time I pick up a load of ply or 2x4s.
The design hasn't really changed in 10+ years, so parts are readily available and cheap. There was an issue with the differential leaking on the 2005 to 2008.5 models. Many were probably fixed by recall, but the 2008.5 and up models have a beefier differential and I think better stock brakes.
It has been a really great truck, minus the bed size and interior plastics. Low maintenance and high reliability. Certainly not a bad choice if you go with it.

I got excited when I saw this thread as my neighbor is selling a couple trucks; neither of them are what you're looking for though.

Sounds good for towing, how childproof are the seats ;)

You complain, but if we ever get stranded in a freak blizzard in Pawnee, you'll be grateful for all the Goldfish crumbs and M&Ms.

I have a 2007 titan and Johnnyego post is perfect! I have nothing to add
I have a 1995 Chevy k2500 6.5 Turbo Diesel. I got it for a song and even though I have been fixing it and changing it to way I like it. And its been good for the most part.
195k miles
4x4
back seat but not 4 doors.
It requires emissions every year.
A truck is a great way to go.

Sometimes I think your neighbor has a used car lot...

It really is a lot more conducive to my life style and the extra work I do around the house and for family. However, I'm gonna miss my Wrangler Rubicon. Probably the only vehicle I have ever been attached to. I had a ton of fun in it.

He didn't mean to have them all at the same time. The black stepside and that white Land Cruiser are for sale. He plans on airing down the 37s on the red one to fit it into the garage at some point. Anyway, hope you find something, but if you don't that FJ80 is only priced at $20k. ;)

What's your budget?
One of the Automation companies I work with is closing it's field services division, and is selling off all of their 2015+ Ford F-150 crew cabs. I am supposed to be getting a list of trucks and prices soon, once they get them serviced and detailed.
I'll pass the info along on here if there is interest.

I’d be interested.
The Jeep is giving up the ghost and will be looking for a ride in the spring.

I would be very curious what the company is selling those trucks for. I'm assuming they are run of the mill fleet style pickups, which I am perfectly okay with.

The FJ80 is only $20k. Just for fun, post it! I would like to see it.
I'll see if I can get his ad some where, I think it's on Craigslist and some forums.

I'm just kicking tires at this point. This is nowhere near what I need or should have. But I do like these vehicles a lot.
