Extremely heavy LE on scene, including K9 based on sky9 view
Prayers going out for the officer.
Hope the officer pulls thru. As for the shooter, send the fucker to his maker in the most painful manner.

A drown is being launched at this time with FLIR. Air one is also on the hunt looking for two others involved.
There are two helicopters circling. I saw an older lady neighbor running to her house from her car. Police telling people to stay inside and not be near windows, I guess word got out. Wife says people are posting pictures of cops in their yard with weapons drawn and K9's and stuff, but I don't know how to check that.

Fox News saying that someone was just arrested. They had a lady calling in and sending in video of a guy being arrested in her front yard, but I missed it. Not sure if it's the same arrest as was already mentioned in the thread. Must be because the helicopters are still circling and widening the search.
ETA: Super classy of Fox to film crying family members showing up at Denver Health and zoom in on their faces.
From news sources I’m seeing, doesn’t look like he made it.

Jeremy Hubbard called them off. He looks genuinely upset over this.

RIP.
[Salute]
Unbelieveable sadness. I had to turn the tv off, my heart aches for all impacted and especially the deputy's family.
What is the deal with no description of suspects being released? Sounds like they caught one but my scanner says they are still looking for others.

Still searching for 2 additional suspects, Light skinned blacks or dark skinned hispanics, dressed in all black.
Finally starting to see the description 4 hours later.
Swat going door to door according to the news.

With assault rifles... according to the news.
HORRIBLE night. RIP

Damn. [Salute]
He was shot in Thornton but drove past a lot of hospitals to take him to Denver Health. Why?

Denver Health is a Premier Level One Trauma facility. Other hospitals were on the way but they are not trained or equipped for such injuries. Denver Health is the best of the best in the Rocky Mountain area. There are air ambulances stationed in Fire Stone, Aurora Medical Center and St Anthony's. Those assets may not have been available. RIP and thank you for your service. [Salute]

Closer hospitals are not equipped to handle that type of casualty.
Honestly, if I was sick I probably wouldn't go to some of those closer hospitals...
I'm stunned to see this happening again. This is so tragic.
RIP, Deputy Gumm.

Honestly, if I was sick I probably wouldn't go to some of those closer hospitals...I see. I was just asking, because it seemed like the thing to do would be the closest hospital. But I guess his injuries were bad enough that they needed a top Hospital. Too bad they couldn't save him.
:(
Went to bed hearing that one of the suspects had been caught but this morning there are still two at large.

So tragic. I hope they are forced to neutralize the perps when they find them.
That neighborhood is just getting worse and worse. This is the second incident there in just the past few months. I lived very close to where this happened several years back and it was pretty bad then too. I'd hear gunshots on a regular basis. So many meth users and gang members. Such a sad state of affairs.

Schools are closed today.
That’s pretty much the neighborhood where my in laws live. It’s a few older white people who have lived there forever and a whole lot of minorities. Seems like a sketchy neighborhood to me. Wish my in laws would move even if it was just a couple of miles north.

The kind words are truly appreciated. Today was a rough day. Two of my coworkers were called out to the scene last night, one is with our peer support team (he had a long night), the other took one of our vehicles over for the procession to the coroner's office. One of our SGTs was called out to assist SWAT with the rest of our Mobile Field Force Team (basically riot unit). It's tough losing a brother. But the outpouring of support and kind words do help. I cannot say I knew Heath, but have exchanged greetings once or twice in passing. Our commander informed us at briefing this is our 1st line of duty death since 1988.
If you feel inclined to donate details can be found at www.adamssheriff.org

Worked with his father, Jim, many years ago.
GodSpeed Deputy Gumm.
Update from the Sheriff's twitter page, they talked to the other parties they were looking for and released them. Just the one shitbag on the hook for the murder.

Prayers for the fallen officer and his family.
too bad the shitbag didn’t get smoked.

That's a good update!
7 released the suspect's name early in the morning on Thursday only to update their story and pull the name because the release would harm an ongoing investigation.
I'm guessing Adams Sheriff will do a full release soon.
