Thanks for the notice. I'm retired mil but would rather volunteer my services or donate funds and leave more on the table for disabled or active-duty. Will check in on this some more when I get back from my next TDY.
Same here, Aloha. Yes, this would be fun. But I know there are guys out there who NEED something like this to snap them back to reality/stick with the pain of healing rather than just "I qual, therefore I'll apply".
My only concern with stuff like this is how much/if any shady stuff occurs. I assisted once with some Veteran help organizations and it left such a bad taste in my mouth. A lot of good intention turns to shit when people start seeing cash roll in.
Not saying that's the case here. I'm just untrusting and weary now of all outfits.

Awesome! It will be good to have you!
Any help is welcome help! [emoji846]
I am a disabled vet (Army) and I go on the pheasant hunts, but I'll be volunteering at the banquet. I will also be organizing some lake hikes this summer in the mountains and taking vets up.

Umm, a guy named Dave Proffit isn't fishy to anyone?

I appreciate your sense of humor, but I've met Dave in person and I will vouch for him. AHIA is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
AHIA just held a pheasant hunt yesterday at Strasburg Game Birds for 8 veterans. If you need a reference call out there and talk to Bob or Bev. They too know Dave.

Dave pours his heart and life into helping vets and he never served a day in the military. He makes NO money off this. He drives for Lyft to support himself.
I spent half of my day off today going around to businesses to get donations to help with the upcoming banquet.
Shoot Indoors pledged a One Month Membership
Qdoba Grill gave two gift cards
Longhorn Steakhouse gave 6 gift cards
Atlantis Pool and Spa pledged a $50 gift certificate.
Hooters pledged a gift card for 50 wings.

I wasn't trying to make a joke, but I wasn't trying to be petty either. "Veteran" charities have been just as big of scams as other charities. A lot of businesses virtue signal with "vet owned" kind of stuff as well. That you actually met the guy in person and know of his other contributions goes a long way toward validating this guy's organization. I know there are good guys that exist that actually care about veterans because my neighbor has a charity and does the exact same thing. Thank you for putting up more information and connections to vouch for your guy. Without any context, "Send money to Dave Proffit!" sounds shady. Full disclosure, I've started business accounts at places with similar tongue in cheek names about making money, so I'm not just being pessimistic about names. I don't want to crap on the guys name since it's a real name.

Not this guy. He is as selfless as it gets. No shady stuff, he accounts for every penny.
I've known Dave personally for over a year and a half now. He came over and visited with me last spring when I was recovering from a surgery, picked up some groceries for me, hung out and kept me company.

I didn't realize there was as much going on with scams and such for veterans organizations, that's really a shame, so I understand the pessimism.
If anyone needs more references, send me a pm and I'll be glad to provide more.
I've been on two pheasants hunt myself with AHIA, met other vets and done volunteer work.

Look pretty neat, but as other have said many more are much more deserving and I'd rather them have the spaces. I don't live in CO anyways.

CoGirl - I like what that charity is doing. Pretty awesome. I'd be interested in donating some video work to create an introduction video for them. If they'd be interested in having one, please connect me with the right person.
