I'm not really sure how this even makes the news. I bring more than that to a typical afternoon of shooting.
According to the joint forces, the team conducted operations in search of wanted men on Gordon Crescent, Granville, about 3:00 pm, when a modified M16 rifle with three magazines, one of which was a double-barreled variant, was found hidden along a fence line adjacent to an open lot at the location.
The magazines were subsequently found to contain 149 7.62 rifle rounds.
Magazines and ammo that don't even go to the rifle, saving lives like a boss! Not sure what a double barrel magazine does.
Yeah, it made so little sense that I had to post.
The pictures in the article keep changing. Look now, the AK-47 pictured is rusty and has no stock at all.
The picture doesn't show 7.62 either. Jamaican journalists at their best.

[Runs to magpul.com before Dims ban double barrel magazines] I had no idea they made those!
Hmmm..............the " Suppression of Crime Act ",......... that sounds just crazy enough to work!
Lol let's make breaking the law against the law. Brilliant!

That looks like a Professional Ordnance carbon-15. hand guard gives it away, same for the buttstock
I want the double barreled rifle that accepts those double barrel mags.

Criminals should be encouraged to use Beta-C mags as they're unreliable AF ... the Aurora theater shooter had one and that's why he did the bulk of his shooting with a shotgun.
Also, every time I see the term "high powered assault rifle" I cringe. It makes as much sense as saying "high capacity single shot rifle".

"Intermediate cartridge semi-auto rifle" just doesn't have the same emotionally charged impact in print.
It's just a matter of time that air-soft will be termed "high powered".

It was probably always an SKS. I know shit about Russian (or American) rifles.
Trying to find more about this state of emergency they declared. Seems like they have troops out confiscating all firearms. I don't really know the gun laws in Jamaica. But with all the shootings apparently happening I feel like they should be finding more than this.
Jamaica is a pretty violent place. Never been there personally, could tell some stories though from a pair of brothers that I know from back home that I know though.
In elementary school two brothers from Jamaica moved to our neighborhood and started going to my school. One was hood one was good. In terms of the US I grew up in a pretty bad area. These kids thought it was heaven compared to where they came from. By high school one of the brothers was in the business of robbing drug dealers. The first time I saw a gun was one this kid showed me before going to rob a crew. He eventually ended up "owning" several blocks in Brooklyn. After a few years he ended up in prison. After getting released he was deported back to Jamaica. My best friend, who was part of this whole group of friends, visited the guy back in Jamaica three times. My friend described moving around with groups of guys walking around with "M16s" for protection. Apparently there are a whole lot of people, criminals, who are armed to the teeth out there. I guess the moral of the story is that there are lots of firearms in Jamaica. It kind of blows my mind that one brother is into such serious crime while the other is just an ordinary guy. I saw him just this thanksgiving, works a normal job, wife, typical life. Really makes me think about the nature vs. nurture thing.

Lenny Kravitz got fat. ^^^
Per OP - I thought pot smokers weren’t violent. What gives.
Poverty plus drug trafficking [Dunno]
If they're Rasta, would it really be drug trafficking or just proselytizing?

149 rounds and two rifles? For Jamaica, that's a pacifist.

Kind of why I was wondering why someone even bothered to write the story. Or how it even made it into my news feed.
