....when 58 people lose their lives to an (alleged) nutcase with a hotel room full of AR's nobody hardly bats an eye?
But when 17 kids lose their lives due to a known nutcase everybody loses their shit?

Not sure what you mean? Politicians went crazy after Vegas. Everyone is banning bump stocks now. Everyone is introducing legislation to ban binary triggers, and aftermarket triggers.

I expect it will get worse now that it was yet another school mass shooting.

No, this is an entirely different response.
What we are seeing now is tenfold of the reaction to Vegas.

I have a bad feeling they're gonna try to go after gun confiscation and ban all guns.

17 kids.

"My Goddddd it's ourrrrrrr childrennnnnn". - BP appreciates the extra sarcasm. It will still be dripping tomorrow.

You heartless bastage.

Them people in Vegas was just country music fans and probably conservative. They probably deserved it.

High school kids are perfect play for media and politicians. Idealistic and gullible.

If you're unarmed, you are a victim

Because media/Democrats don't really care about any of the lives lost. None. They don't care about people or their lives.

They just hate GUNS. And they know that kids dying solicits an emotional response that they can play to. The only time they can make any progress is when they can play to people's emotions.

These school shootings are essentially domestic terrorism.

Wouldn't that fall under the department of homeland security?

Highschool kids also give interviews. And walkout. And plan 'marches' on DC apparently. The media LOVES them. Crying kids speaking out against guns on national tv. It's gold to Democrats.

Yet over the last 19 days in Chicago....

February to Date
Shot & Killed: 22
Shot & Wounded: 69
Total Shot: 91
Total Homicides: 27

And not a peep

If Jared Polis gets elected governor here, I have no doubt AR's and similar will. That nutcase is way off the deep end with his politics. He's Michael Bloomberg v2.0 times 100.

There's only one way to do that . . . and as much as the commie state dems squawk about how guns are the problem, very few dems would actually want to see a 2A repeal amendment come up for a vote. Once you open that door, even the fudds will turn on them at the ballot box.

Don't get all excited about the media trying to stir up a furor. That's what they do to sell copy. As soon as the daughter of a media mogul is kidnapped, the mogul demands armed men get her back. Let us stick together and keep a positive attitude.

I think this is built on top of Vegas and Texas. Without those two the response to this would be "meh".

Also the Establishment GOP is getting ready to cave on amnesty for illegals so they're going to start caving on lots of things because that's what the GOPe does; cuck.

We'll cross that road when we get there. I would definitely not say that Polis is as bad or worse than Bloomberg. And this isn't New York or California. It's getting close but we still have a lot of rural area and sportsman in this state

If the state politicians wouldn't listen to the combined voice of the sheriffs they won't listen to the sportsmen.

For all of the millions Feinswine, Bloomberg, Mom's Demand Action, Brady and their ilk raise to "Prevent Gun Violence" just how much have they spent on hardening schools, improving mental health screening etc?

I suppose you might be right. Definitely the case if gun owners and conservatives commit themselves like they always do by contacting their reps, voting, and singing petitions

They’ll keep playing the long game. Slow erosion of rights and make it harder and harder to enjoy shooting of any type. Generations turn over, and much like trying to find a millennial who can drive a stick shift, there won’t be groups of enthusiasts or freedom appreciating Americans to push back. As it is, these kids hate responsibility.

Sorry to have such a dismal outlook. Hope I am wrong.

Yet not once have I ever heard of tougher penalties for law breakers.
How about the death penalty for murder with a gun, nope, will never hear of it, criminals have more rights than a regular law abiding citizen.

To some degree, Yes. The Framers watched people get persecuted for committing petty crimes or no crime at all and believed protections needed to be in place for the accused along with consistency in laws and restrictions to what they can do. But I definitely see your point and realize what you're getting at.

Some whack-job lost his shit and misused his firearms while breaking a litany of laws, therefore all law abiding citizens must be punished.

Culpability of the government agencies that completely dropped the ball? None.

Since 1998, which included Columbine, there have been 39 school age (K-12) students killed in a mass shooting in a K-12 school by a shooter with an "assault weapon". 39. In three incidents. 5 at Columbine, 20 at Sandy Hook and 14 in Florida.

Since 1998 there have been 22,176 15-18 year olds killed as an occupant in a motor vehicle accident. If these kids were truly concerned about their safety they would be marching to raise the driving age to 19.
