Same old cosmetic ban. This surely won't make the GCAs happy.

Some people just want to watch the world burn.

Here’s an idea.
What if the finance industry — credit card companies like Visa, Mastercard and American Express; credit card processors like First Data; and banks like JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo — were to effectively set new rules for the sales of guns in America?
PayPal already has such a ban in place.

Cash n carry I guess, would be great for local shops.

Yes it would, they could raise their prices too because where else is anyone going to go.
For all those with an apathetic, or FUDD mentality, here’s a kick in the pants.

I use my credit cards all the time, love the cash back (and extended warranty and price protections of my citi card).
Interestingly, I used paypal this morning to renew my NRA membership (thanks to CNN and friends for reminding me to get that done).

For local FFL purchases? I've been a cash n carry buyer for ever. MY theory is if i don't have the cash on hand, it's not something i can afford to put on the card.

Looks like we're in for some fun....
We already have a thread for the 2018 Gun Ban. I guess it's more fun to discuss it in a 2017 thread, almost like we're getting away with something. [Peep]

Maybe the mods could merge them under a new thread “Attempts to ban Assault Weapons 2017 - Currently”

I've always got the money sitting in my account, but any of the times I've purchased a gun from a local shop, all have been thru my credit card. Card gets paid off each month, no balance carried, it's just more convenient for me not to worry about going by the bank/atm to grab cash. And as I said, I get cash back on the CC. Maybe if shops offered a cash discount that was more than the credit card's cash back, I'd take advantage of it.
We need more men like Nick Freitas in politics.
What a great, balanced response from this former Special Forces SFC turned politician:

Unfortunately he won't go far in politics. Has too much conviction, uses too much logic, and is well spoken. I want to live in a country with people like him representing me.

If this were to happen, I'd expect to see savvy dealers move to accept various cryptocurrencies.

What's wrong with cash? For on line purchases a postal money order or bank check is still valid for purchases too.

Maybe the mods don't want to merge them. Two different bills?

2 - 3 what's the difference, none of them are concerned, or give a damn, about protecting our rights.

Nothing's wrong with those things, but ultimately crypto is more convenient and faster especially if you're going to buy something online, aka the way everyone buys pretty much everything nowadays. I can't buy something online with cash, money orders take time (you have to go get one, mail it, and wait for it to clear), and bank checks can be subject to the same virtue-signalling "we aren't dealing with dirty gun dealers" that this writer is proposing for credit card companies.
