Saw this on the news this morning. This guy is a joke. Does he really think this is a threat to his kids and family? This guy Pierce is a total tool.

PARKER, Colo. -- Parker residents said Monday they do not want to see a gun range move into the lot across the street from their subdivision and plan to fight the proposal.
Bryan Pierce said he and his wife found out about the proposed site on Friday when they received a letter detailing plans for the vacant lot behind their home.
He said when they moved in, they knew the plot was zoned to be a site for businesses and office spaces, but he never imagined a gun range would be one of the occupants.
“If I wanted to choose to live near a gun range, I would have done that. But I didn’t choose that,” Pierce said.
Pierce said he enjoys going to gun ranges. However, he said he’s worried about noise and that the site could be a magnet for criminals who might want to burglarize the range because of its stock of weapons.
“To me, bringing that right across the street from my kids, that doesn’t make any sense,” Pierce said.
The proposed site is also close to a stadium used by the Douglas County School District. The district said it is OK with the proposal, so long as certain criteria are met.
Other neighbors are leery of putting an indoor gun range close to students.
“People traveling back from forth from the gun range to their car with probably loaded guns or guns and ammo,” Pierce said.
“My intent is to build the safest and securest facility,” gun range owner Rion Buswell said in a statement. “We designed this building from scratch with the requisite security measures in place both in the construction of the building and technologically.”
As far as noise, Buswell said that has also been taking into consideration and the building will be outfitted to keep the neighborhood quiet.
“The results of our chosen construction methods provide the continued quiet atmosphere the residents of these neighborhoods,” Buswell said.
A meeting is scheduled with the developer for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lutheran High School and neighbors said they plan to attend to give their feedback on the proposal.

So I guess he has no qualms with it being put across the street from others' kids? Hypocrite....

It was about 8 years ago another builder tried to make a range near the Post Office in Parker but started building without the requirement paperwork so that got knocked down. Hopefully they do build a range in Parker as they would do well there. Although Parker seems be be turning more liberal with time and the exploding population.

Having an indoor range across the street is probably safer than having a High School or other gun free zone.

Pierce says that HE enjoys going to gun ranges implying that Pierce has guns in HIS house with HIS kids, BUT apparently fears others with guns going to a gun range.

Just another hypocrite.

Just another hypocrite.

Also, why is that he also thinks his concerns are legit or more so because he goes to ranges?

I had no idea they were building one here! That’s awesome, I will volunteer to swap houses with this Pierce guy lol.

Does this clown not realize that every time he goes shopping at a store like Costco/Walmart/Target etc....he and his children probably walk behind/in front of lots of people with loaded guns.

The only reason I feel sorry for him is that the range wasn't there first when he bought the house. You could be really supportive of gun rights and still not want that bordering your property.

I would ask for a lifetime membership discount myself! Could you imagine the convenience?!? :)

Always perplexed by ignorance displayed by people when it comes to firearms. Having a indoor gun range in your community or your neighborhood IMHO is a net positive. Noise? I don’t think so.

I use to live in Parker up until 2000. Moved away and am now in the hinterlands. I shot in the NF. Kinda have it all to myself. Nice[emoji106]

It's funny that where I live I hear my neighbors shooting quite a bit on their property. I kinda like knowing I live where I can hear the sound of freedom.

FFS, I live less than a mile north of the Aurora police range, and there's times it sounds like downtown Damascus(mag dumps at 2158 so they don't have to check unused ammo back in). I'd love it if it were an indoor range...

Fuckin Nimbys...

He can whine all he wants. Hope it moves forward. I drive all over Parker with loaded guns and extra ammo every day. Shop with loaded guns on me. Movies etc.

When I go out to shoot at my buddies house in Elizabeth it seems like when we start shooting others join in. Freedom.

He sounds like your basic NIMBY type -- wants to enjoy all the benefits of access but put it in someone else's backyard so they have to endure any inconveniences. On the other hand, to be fair, even if I have/had guns of my own, it doesn't mean I trust other people's safe handling procedures. I've seen too many "whoopsies" at ranges (and honestly had one or two myself although they never resulted in a ND).

Same out here for us.

The minions little heads snap right up from chores when they hear neighbors go hot nearby. Then immediately look longingly at our little plinking range.

Glad we live in the sticks and rarely have issues with what our neighbors do.

I hope this goes in, I always want more options when it comes to a place to shoot. May have missed it but is there an address where this is going or a link to a map?

I bet most residents don't care or are ok with it. The first line stated "residents" but the article only quotes a single person. The news people picked up on this knucklehead because they could make hay. Another example of the MSM ding-dongs milking the recent shooting in Florida.

Crazy like a fox. Lifetime membership attached to my house for a range I could walk to would be fine with me. :)

The potential range developers should offer to build a check cashing store as an alternative.

And can you imagine the number of times you are detained by the local PD from all the “Man with a gun walking down the street” calls ?

Exactly the number of times you decide to wear your traveling cloak at the same time?

Gun cases in a shopping cart...where did the cart come from... :)

If it is really just behind the house, by the time they showed up I'd be on my 2nd magazine on a shooting lane. :)

I could be wrong, but it seems to me one of the biggest expenses in running any range is insurance. Obviously getting government permission to open a business is onerous and fought with political hurdles (see Top Golf in Thornton).

I am just saddened that more local politicians haven't seen the money in opening public shooting centers. They have to be more cost effective than running community rec centers or municipal golf courses.

I'd be interested in buying his house. Next to a shooting range...hell yeah!

They (residents in the area) pulled the same shite with Liberty range. Never mind it's been loaded with mall traffic and every texting while driving moron, who ever got behind the wheel. BUT OH NOOOO a gun range, the horror, the horror
