This political crap is getting totally out of control. I do not have a bump stock nor do I have any interest in one of these “shell wasters” but I fail to understand how there can be hundreds or perhaps thousands of the bump stocks actually in use and all went well until just one evil/nut case shoots up the Las Vegas concert. After that one single act, these stocks are soon going to be totally banned with no grandfather clause for relief of those already out in circulation. I moved from Colorado about two and half years ago to Illinois. Yes, we have some atrocious firearms laws here too but down in the Illinois Capitol today our snowflake legislators are working on bills to ban all so called “assault weapons” and high capacity magazines over ten rounds. Also being banned (if it also passes) is all .50 BMG rilfles and ALL rounds of .50 BMG ammo. I am not aware of any .50 BMG Firearms being involved in any crimes but apparent the Illinois snowflakes feel that this caliber might some day cause a problem so just ban them too. With all this shit going on in this State and on the Federal level, I feel that since my time above the sod is getting pretty limited (because my coming up on 82 years of age) might not be so bad but you younger firearms enthusiasts have some mighty rough times ahead. It's going to be a bad run this time around, and it's not going to get much better.
As one of the members of the younger generations on here, I fear you are correct...

Agree 100%. And the language to ban bump stocks will include "increased rate of fire" and anything that "turns a semi-automatic into a machine gun." Slippery slope.
The silver lining is that a lot of guns owners are realizing we are in the same boat. There is no running from this. Exactly why I donated to fight NYSafe Act. Anyone who thought that bullshit is geographically constrained wasn't thinking.

Haven't you watched or read the news? Bump stocks turn "legal weapons into automatic weapons." I've watched it again and again, and so has the rest of the uneducated Americans that have no idea so they believe it. Then you have CNN with their retired Army General, who states you can fire it "single shot or full semi automatic"......... Scroll to 1 min in the video to see his vast experience.

Those evil semi-automatic rifles. Has the CMP stopped selling M1s yet?
I better stock up on.357 ammo before they deem semi-auto pistols are evil too.

The first thing I was thinking of when I saw a scroll saying Trump said he was going to issue an order to ban bump stocks was that it could deflate the Democrat attempts to pass legislation and an executive order signed this year could be reversed easily in 2021 -- don't even need repeal legislation.

Don't you know that those .50 lazer guided sniper cannons can be used to shoot down the space shuttle? They must be banned before someone takes out the International Space Station and it crashes into the ocean causing tidal waves that throw the earth out of orbit and we all go crashing into the sun.
Do it for the kids.

If Trump signs any anti-gun executive orders he won't be around reverse them in 2021. Or are you saying whoever the next president is will be very pro-gun?

Just like DACA, which was put in place by Obama as an EO that courts are now saying that Trump can't change?
Unless he plans to become a glorious dictator, I'd prefer he not go counting his 2020 eggs before they hatch.

I had been defending our current POTUS but after watching him yesterday in the gun control meeting, I am having some serious doubts about him.[blaster]
