This verminous scum should have also faced harrassment charges on top of the disorderly conduct charges.

What kind of grown woman belittles kids for supporting a President?

Time to ban liberals from holding office and being around children. They aren't mentally stable at all.

An elected official in Texas was charged with a misdemeanor on Wednesday after allegedly berating a group of young girls because one was wearing a Donald Trump T-shirt.

Fox News reported that investigators from the The Harris County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office filed the disorderly conduct charge against Kellye Burke, a West University Place councilwoman and a member of Moms Demand Action, a gun control advocacy group.

The four teenagers were reportedly waiting in line to get cookies at a cafe in Houston when Burke began harassing them. One of the girls was wearing a shirt that read “Trump: Make America Great Again.”

“A tall, short-haired blond woman came up to them and screamed, ‘Grab em by the (expletive) girls!'” a father of one of the girl’s told KPRC.

The man wished to remain anonymous out of fear of retaliation against his daughter

“Then, she yells it again!” the father continued. “At that point the girls were getting kind of scared, and then the woman starts, you know, going, ‘MAGA! MAGA! MAGA!’ while shaking her fist.”

The girls didn’t respond to the woman.

Before walking away, Burke allegedly took a photo of the girl wearing the Trump T-shirt.
“They were scared,” the father said. “They were absolutely scared. My little girl essentially wanted to know if this woman was going to hurt her.”

KPRC reporter Jacob Rascon tried to contact Burke at her home.

“What are you doing at my house?” she yelled from inside, KPRC reported.

“The disorderly conduct charge,” Rascon responded.

"I’m putting my kids to bed!” she yelled. “Go away!”

Burke did reach out to the father and mother of the young girl to apologize.

“We accepted her apology,” the father said. “I would be just as angry if any parent said this to my child but as an elected official I’ll let her voters handle this matter.

After harassing the teens, the council woman probably got in her car with a "Coexist" bumper sticker and drove away in a cloud of rusty dust.

Harris county is one of the worst places in the state... definitely blue, and the most idiotic politicians are from there...
(Austin may have them beat on crazy, but the stupid is stronger in Harris Co... the most populated county in Texas, 3rd in the nation... also loaded with petrochemical facilities)

Harris County = Houston for those that aren't familiar.

And these people claim to be tolerant? Tolerant when it comes to “Group Think.” Diverse ideas or a different worldview or free speech. Not so much. People like this are evolutionarily digressing and becoming something less-than-human in their behavior and conduct. She obviously lacks any moral standard of decency, restraint or any understanding of the Golden Rule.

A member of moms demand action...it is actions like hers that make people want to be armed. It is incidents like that that make people want the ability to defend themselves if she goes beyond just being a raving lunatic and moves into the realm of crazed attacker.

I would've accepted the apology in the form of a settlement check. Start hitting the loons in the wallet where it counts.

I was offline most of yesterday while I cleaned out my garage and missed this thread. When I got up this morning I first checked my eMail and found one from the NRA which mentioned this event. According to the NRA eMail, the Councilwoman isn't just a "member" of Mom's Demand Action, she's the TX president for them. This information helps frame that womans mentality even further.

Frankly, I'm not tracking what you're saying here. I agree that a problem person is a problem person, regardless of their political leaning, but don't see where the "fake news" comment is coming from.

"Fake news" was not the best term. "Constant outrage" is probably better. I come her for scholarly facts, not the newest AJ or DB quote.

Why is it not policy that when people in positions of authority who behave this badly and break the laws, they aren't removed from their positions of power an influence?

Being in a position of power and influence should demand proper behavior and etiquette. She sure as hell didn't display any of that when attacking a group of teens for their political preferences.

To the OP, quit posting troll bs news and links to this crap. You said you came to the forum with intent to learn about firearms and shooting but you just post this bs. Put your money where your mouth is (or your keyboard). Better yet show up to a match or fun shoot with other forum members...

Last I checked, this was "General Discussion".

Most anything goes.

I've posted quite a bit about scopes, getting my AR sighted in, problems with my sights on my handgun.

If you don't like something I post, don't read it and don't reply to it. There's many topics on this forum I don't like or care for...but guess what!?! I don't reply to them and I go on about my business. That is so easy! Instead you feel the need to create drama about what I post. YOU have control over the content you reply to. No one else. You can even choose to block my profile if what I post bothers you that much.

As for showing up to a group shoot...I have yet to see anyone post or organize one. So when there is one and it happens to fall on my days off, of course I will be there, but nothing has been posted in the past 7 months. So before you call me out to do something, know what you're talking about first.

As for shooting matches, most of those fall on Saturdays and I work Saturdays so I am unable to attend. My days off are Sundays and Mondays. It is rare I get a Saturday off unless it is bad weather or lack of freight or a holiday like X-mas or New Year's falls on a Saturday and we get that rare 4 day weekend. In such an event, I could make a group meet but doubtful for a match due to not knowing until the last minute. Good day to you sir.

I'd like to see members post with questions followed by answers. Pretty simple. I've been around for a while and I had a rough start, but I figure a Couple folks might be willing to give Cogirl a bit more of a chance to fit it in here with this community.
