Corporal Dale Hallman was killed in a single-vehicle crash Pencreek Road while responding to a call at about 1 a.m. Corporal Hallman was en route to provide K9 support in search of a subject who had fled into the woods when his patrol car left the roadway and overturned.

Corporal Hallman had served with the Saluda County Sheriff's Office for over five years. He is survived by his expectant wife and two children.

I normally don't add opinions on these threads but please guys wear your seat belts.

LEOs you know better. A lack of a seatbelt is one of our number one killers.

Man, it seems like there have been a lot of these single-vehicle deaths lately. :(

Thoughts and prayers out to Deputy Hallman, his family and friends.

Not to take away from his death, but since he was on his way to provide K9 support, I'm left wondering about the status of his K9. Any word?

I read one of the articles from the local news that his K9 was fine, and not injured.
