I took me a very long time to find it but I'd go for an actual HK MP5, yeah I know, I'm a snob when it comes to this kind of thing. They pop up on gunbroker once in a while, I actually found mine on armslist. We have an HK MP5-K that'll be getting a stamp one of these days. Those are actually new imports and pretty nice, I see them pop up for sale once in a while too.
... lol my wife is reading this as I type and said that MP5 is why she married me

Well i got lucky and filed my 3 when eform 1 was introduced, got my first stamp in 4 weeks, second in 5 weeks and third in 4 months.

That's nuts, what year was that? I guess I haven't been waiting that long.... checks cashed on 2/19/18 for 2 cans, and 2/28/18 for the SBR. Hoping for 6-7 months.

I filed my first form using a trust on August 30, 2014, and got it September 30th, those were the good days.

I'll play. These 2 are my favorites. The A1/C7 ain't clone correct or anything, just a modern spin on a carry handle. Spikes lower with a PSA CHF 10.5 on the A1/C7. The other is mostly Noveske, not a factory rifle though. Upper and lower purchased seperately. The cans are home rolled. One tube came from DM, the other I spun up myself. The internals are all done by me, clipped cones. The carry handle wears a 7" with 7 baffles, the Noveske is a 6" with 5 baffles.

My oldest is based off a pre-production Vltor VIS midlength rail I convinced Vltor to sell me on the last day of Shot Show in 2005 or 2006. I was super cool for about a month.

Built this one as a passive aggressive bitch slap to 'Spike' of Spike's Tactical, who used to frequent my Florida 2-gun club, and for whom I didn't care for very much. He used to swear you couldn't get a 7.5" gun to run without a pigtail gas tube. I also had his 'Chewbacca' logo lasered off the bolt carrier.
It's been well over 10 years and I should probably let it go, but I still think that guy's a dick.

Bad sentence construction. Ray pretty much nailed it. I hate Mike, the guy who constantly talked smack about what wouldn't work and then ended up selling it a week later with his logo lasered all over it. But I have no animosity towards the parts themselves. And 2004 was a long time ago for both of us, so I should probably let go of the grudge. I'm sure he has.
@Southpaw - You make up for it with quality! Also, GK 'inspires' a lot in people. He inspired me to try and pull into his driveway, which is why the corner of his 'utility shed' has a dent.
