View Full Version : Meet and Greet, Group Shoot or Happy Hour?

Got called out to "show up to a meet" or a shoot. Don't see a club meet posted recently.

So let's do this and get a club meet and greet, a happy hour or a group shoot organized.

Or maybe a shoot first then a Happy Hour afterwards.

Sat afternoon/evening or Sunday anytime will work for me.

I look forward to shooting with you and I for one would be happy to join you at the range anytime I could.

Do you have a range in mind?

Only ever been to Shoot Indoors and Cherry Creek FSC.

I am open to suggestions as to a range that would facilitate a large group so that everyone can get a chance to shoot and will leave that part to someone with more knowledge of the ranges in the area, membership vs. single day fees to arrange.

I look forward to shooting with you and I for one would be happy to join you at the range anytime I could.

Thanks Jason! Look forward to shooting with you as well! [emoji846]

For those who may be interested, Silverbullet (where I work, BTW), offers the option of renting the whole range for parties after hours, maximum of 2 hrs (7pm-9pm).
Cost is $175/hr, regardless of the number of people.
5 25 yds lanes indoors.
You can bring your own ammo, provided it is brass cased and has no steel core (no aluminum cases, no steel cases), or buy it on site.
You can bring your own targets (paper only, no gongs, no paper plates, no cardboard), or buy them on site.

While I think your meet and greet is a fine idea, there are club events every weekend - they don't get posted up individually. Check this for the recurring schedule: https://www.ar-15.co/threads/64167-Monthly-Competition-Schedules

I would be able to attend something like this during those hours during the week.

I'm up for some trigger time. Bakers draw range in pawnee is free and large enough for a meet up you can bbq also. Just an idea. I will keep an eye on this thread and hopefully we can all meet up and do some shooting.

If everyone has a suppressor, we could use the alley behind the shop. I'd pull a permit for a block party ;)

I'm game, there hasn't been one since 10? yrs ago, at least

Will they allow full auto fire, or maybe just bumpers and binaries?

If they can't hear it, they will never know.

It is a little out of the way for sure. From previous shoots no one wants to pay to shoot. Is there any where around denver where we can get togather and shoot for free?

What would be a good day that will work for most??? End of May??? End of April??? Beginning of June???

Definitely around May sometime. let the last of this winter weather move out.

Sunday would be ideal for me. Not sure around Denver other than Cherry Creek SP.

I'm curious about this location too. I have never heard of it, but it's close to where I'm at. As for a "club" shoot - is this only for members of a specific club, or is it to anyone in the ar-15.co community? If it's the latter I'd be down for sure.

DONT JUDGE ME!!!
lolz, last time i mixed alkee-haul and guns was out in grand junction like a decade ago shooting guns, riding chinese 125cc mini bikes, then having some brewski, while in the company of a native american.... started drinking at noon, and by the evening he was so slashed that he didnt notice when i was pouring southern comfort in his beer.... then, since he was the biggest alcoholic in the group, he ended up driving.... in a 1980 astro van, that just screamed "pull me over i spend all my money on booze!!!!" we got pulled over, at one point while we were standing in the ditch, he got all wild eyed (and dead serious) and like, "lets make a run for it!!!" had a revolver in the door that i purchased for the mother in law earlier that day (that we were testing in the desert), i informed the cop, he took it in (since we had been dranking) and was supposed to take it into evidence that night. (saturday?). monday morning rolls around, the gun had never made it into evidence, they patch us directly into the trooper, he meets us in a parking lot and hands the gun back in a plastic walmart bag, ahaahahah, weirdest experience!!

long story long, glad no one was hurt, etc etc....

so all that being said, maybe someoen with some private land east and northish of denver could host? anyone know anyone like that? thataway the autos, silencers, brewskis and other shenanigans wouldnt be so eyebrow raising?

fort morgan has multiple gun ranges/clubs etc, like 5+ i bet. or they just super private guided hunt type areas? just a long ways out for you city folk haha

these things take a strong leader to initiate, as lotsa folks just say, "we should xxx" and everyone agrees but due to scheduling, idealness of the locale etc it never materializes.... not calling anyone out, we just need to nominate a decision maker etc...

I'd say pawnee. I'm an early riser and can help set up. Problem is it gets real busy out there on the weekends.

Anyone in the Firearms Communtiy. This is not a Sanctioned Colorado Ar15 Shooters Club Event and will bear no responsibility for anything at this event.

IMO this really shouldn't be broadcast all over the web There's enough interest here, with the size (or lack of) at Pawnee more than a 12-20 shooters might get crowded.
