I ain't saying nuthin...
What's to say? I can't even think of anything more manly than five sheets of plywood and four 2x4's.
EDIT: That's like 5/16th of a whole shed!
A minivan is basically a standard length truck w/ permanent topper that has the ability to also sit people in the bed w/ seatbelts.
Don't forget about the ability to get stuck in a muddy field out in Pawnee with ready to change 60,000 mile road tires.

What you do with the one you have now? Stripping it for spares.

You'll see that one again when I start a thread bragging about how I was able to tow a yard trailer designed for an ATV.

It's not a Honda Ridgeline. Compared to the van, that would have butched it up a bit.

If you need more capacity, it's as simple as a sawzall and duct tape....

Sawzall and duct tape are two of my main tools!
I dont see any plywood Irv. I see sheets of T111, but no plywood. You have to be careful about being serious around here.

There are two sheets all the way on the bottom. They are of a... delicate thickness, so you have to look close.

Terrible to have to borrow your wife's vehicle to make a trip to Home Depot.
That van probably has more room than some of the Promasters/Sprinters.
I kid you not, our biggest (roomiest) vehicle we own right now is Hyundai Elantra. I once had to go to Castle Rock twice in 3 hours due to size of my automobile.

If his van self-identifies as a truck, which bathroom should it use?

LOL ^^
I think Red-Green would have cut off the top and sides, using duct tape to tie down the load.

If it ain't broke, you're not trying.
If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.
We have a chrysler town and country and that thing can hold a whole bunch of cargo when you put the seats down. Not sure if I missed what kind of van that is, looks like it could be the same thing. For a minivan it's actually pretty sweet.
At the very least, do this. I for one like minivans. Our Honda is not cool enough for the wife. But it is super practiacal.

Can't pick up as many homeless veterans to help me build stuff with a pick-up.

Unlike my buddy's F-150 that is leaking like a sieve, my vehicle is a classy lady and doesn't pee outside.

Grand Caravan Mainstreet, so the same thing, but probably with less features.

That generation of van could be had with an AWD, turbocharged, 5-speed manual. Talk about a sleeper!
Minivans are great. Old neighbor had an early 90s 4wd Mazda minivan with some great ground clearance, I kept trying to buy it off of her but she wouldn't budge. I still check out craigslist looking for a honda or toyota minivan but they're getting up there in price.
I couldn't find a Honda Odyssey of similar year and miles that wasn't $8,000-$10,000 more than I paid for my Caravan. I actually like the Caravan better for a few reasons.
-More power
-Seats fold into the floor without being removed All seats are in the van in that picture, which means awesome under floor storage when seats are up.
That's really all I can think of. I thought I read somewhere that it was governed at 107 mph, but that's not true.

I'm kind of on a full size van kick right now, something in 4WD would be nice, a Quigley perhaps.

I like Irvs van. Im a little jealous every time he brings it up here. We used to have a Grand Caravan. However now we need a 15 passenger van, no other vehicle I know (minus stretch limos) will fit our family now. I have looked at Wildland Firefighter crew buggies, but even they dont have enough seats.

A Pinzgauer might fit everyone, but not a single one of you would enjoy the drive anywhere.
My family insures a ton of limo companies, maybe something in a party bus would work.
You could just get two Caravans and HAM radios.

man i quote the snot outt some red green but hardly anyone has heard of em....
yes they say trucks are more of a luxury/statement item nowadays.... you could get away with a trailer for just when you '' need to" haul something, but if its junk off the side o the road nothing beats a pickup...

I had a minivan before minivans were cool. Bought one of the new 1986 Ford Aerostars. It was handy for hauling kids in carseats and was comfy on long trips. But not cool, handy or comfy enough to ever buy another one.

[Dunno] I think you could say the same about cars if you use that logic. [Dunno]
Before we had a kid, we averaged ~12 doors in our garage over 3 cars for over a decade JUST in case we ever had kids, but 99% of our miles was 1 person driving by their lonesome.
And breaking out a utility trailer just to haul something sucks. Sucks even worse if you don't have a truck. ;)

Vans are certainly as cool as they've ever been now. I heard that when Astro Vans came out they were all the rage out in California. If you wanted to look cool, you had an AWD Astro with all the options.

A cool minivan:

I know have a new life goal.
I loved my 91 caravan cargo version. When I was at Stewart we used to drive by the motorpools at lunch with the side door open and one guy would be a "door gunner" with a golf club, making machine gun sounds at all the soldiers walking, other passengers shouting lines from FMJ. Would probably never get away with that today. It ended up needing a new transmission and I stupidly got a new vehicle instead of just having that thing fixed. Love our current Odyssey.
I know have a new life goal.
Why haven't we started that yet?
