RIP buddy. Shit I was watching Saving Silverman earlier today. He had me cracking up. What a bummer.
Saving Silverman was my second favorite movie with him in it.
RIP.
An icon of the generation. RIP Gunny.

Damn, he was definitely on the short list of celebs that I am truly sad to see go. RIP Gunny!
My brother, a Marine, damn near worshipped Gunny, he's in denial right now.

Sad to hear that. I’ll have to watch a few of his movies this week.

Well that ruins what was already a sucky month.
My brother ran into him at a bar in San Diego before his second tour and Gunny borrowed one of their uniform covers, shouted some lines from full Metal jacket and drank with them for several hours.
R.i.p. to them both

I hope St Peter's uniform is in proper order and the pearly gates properly shined or he'll hear some yellin'. :)
Sad news.
RIP Gunnny

Did any of you meet him at Neve’s for Glock Days in August of 2016? He stayed at the table signing autographs for hour after hour and would not take a break. He told the Glock reps he was with, as long as people are here to see me I’m going to be right here. He would spend as much time with each person as they wanted. He asked about each person as he signed pictures and posed for photos with each one. He was one of the real good guys and will be missed in this life. RIP, Gunny.

One of the few celebrities I actually respected. He was an amazing man and a very good actor (of course, most of his roles were the character he was born to portray). Sad something like pneumonia could take down such a strong spirit, but we all have our time. Rest in Peace Gunny.
RIP Gunny.
FMJ is one of my favorite movies and R. Lee Ermey was a big reason for that.

Indeed. I had the distinct pleasure of meeting him and I am truly honored to say I did. R.I.P. Gunny. You will not be forgotten. Semper Fi.

RIP GUNNY...... Prayers to his family......
I liked him a lot as an actor. He will be remembered and missed.
"Marines don't die, they go to hell to regroup."
I had the pleasure of meeting the man on multiple occasions & was thoroughly impressed each time with how genuine & patient he was. I never felt the need to ask for an autograph because to me it's a big ask beyond soaking up a little of their time. I kind of wish I had now as it's one of the short list of people I'd proudly display a photo with. Good man.
Rest easy Ron aka R. Lee Ermey aka Gunny.

It said a lot for the man that he voted for Obama in 2008 and then saw what the man truly was and was publicly rebuking him in 2010 (to the detriment of his acting career). He seemed to me to be a man who wanted the best for the country and had great hope for the country's potential while being fully aware of how it had deviated from its potential in the past. A true patriot who will be missed.

Praying for "good grief" for his family.
Always sad to see a good man exit the stage.... RIP
Saw a Glock Gen 5 commercial with the Gunny tonight...was a sad reminder that he's gone. Was just watching an old Lock & Load episode on shotguns last week. At least he left behind some good work in his absence.

I wonder what his last words to the doc were. "You maggot, you can't treat your way out of a paper bag!"
That is a really damn interesting thought.
A great tribute to Gunny:

I was going to post that scene from "The Boys From Company C" that that video opens with yesterday. That movie was my introduction to Gunny, and has always been one of my favorites.

My link-fu sucks....Look up "lock and load, artillery' on youtube. There is an episode with Bob McBride (a personal hero of mine). The Gunny didn't get the memo to be ready for anything when you shoot with Bob. I think someone can post it up.
