Can someone throw up a caliper measurement of how tall the XS glue on bead is?

Much appreciated.

Not a single member using XS shotgun bead?

I know someone with a magnetic one. I'll check and see what the brand is.

Thanks.

Lots of posts about the XS bead, and even big names using them like Thunder Ranch... and nobody has a height measurement for me.

Must be the ‘if you are using the bead you are doing it wrong’ shotgun mentality. Sry- I want to do it wrong... with precision.

He's got a different brand. I guess you'll just have to call XS during their business hours. ;)

I have one. I'll take a measurement when I get home.

Excellent. Thank you much.

Noticing the bead for my 20” mossberg 500 barrel is the same as my 14” mossberg 590 barrel.

They shoot 1oz fed fosters within 50fps. But the geometry of the 14” barrel puts the front sight SIGNIFICANTLY lower in proportion to the 20”

The math doesn’t add up.

Mossberg is just throwing whatever size bead on that hey have- no corresponding POAPOI with slugs like the 20” has (POAPOI at 100yd)

14” is shooting about 2ft high at 25yd. That’s a problem.

I have heard that the XS provides POAPOI at 50yd with standard velocity 1oz foster.

...if you wanted to know the ‘why’ behind my question.

If you're shooting slugs primarily, I would recommend going with something like this.
https://www.xssights.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=993353&CAT=8265

The rear is windage and elevation adjustable making it easy to regulate and adjust to your preference for POI/POA.

Thanks! I like these. Bit pricey considering what I have into the shotgun... I’m cheap.

The gun is running mostly 00buck... but may as well be slugs at the distances I am worried about, because Flite Control is magic. 14” barrel is patterning <8” at 25yd. Problem is that the pattern is always WAY high. 12-18”? A taller bead/post will put me right where I want. I was running a 10mm marble on the gun today and found it shot about 4” low at 25. The 7mm XS sight does sound like it will put me where I want to be at the distances I care about.

I’m a fan of the simple bead- if only for appearance...
