This is so great. NOT. where the hell was this bill when a nice white couple was driving in Tennessee and 4 black guys car jacked them robbed, raped and tortured and killed them, then the judge called it a carjacking gone wrong, not a hate crime WTF I would say more but I will leave it at this. And If I remember correctly they only got 25 years or some BS like that. This was only a few months ago too

This kind of thing irritates the hell out of me...

Why do we have to have special protections for anybody? If one guy attacks another guy and kills him, its murder.. It doesn't matter why the murder or attack occured so much as the fact that it happened. We have too many protected classes of people in this country. Children, the elderly, disabled folks, that makes sense. Gays, minorities, religious affiliations and the like do not need any more protection in the law than anybody else does. This legislation is feel good nonsense...

I think the ability to attach bills to other bills is the worst thing ever allowed to be done in our government.

Allow me to attach my agreement to this statement.

While I generally agree, just remember. That's how we got the Concealed Carry in National Parks legislation passed.

I don't agree with it...but it sometimes works in my favor. Of course, then it's OK.

While true, I feel that our elected reps and senators either can't pay enough attention, or be trusted to make the right decision when it comes to voting for a bill with an undesireable piggyback or not.

I know it's a two way street but I feel it undermines the system even if it's "fair" in the long run.

My guess is that this is as close as they can get to policing your thoughts... for now that is. If they could, you would be procecuted for, or at least forced into training to counter your racist, homophobic, or any other thoughts counter to the collective good. On second thought, nah. They wouldn't do that.
