Yep. The kiddos got the day off for the first time this year.

This storm sucks. 8 inches or so of heavy sloppy crap on top of mud. I'm sitting at the bottom of my hill after a 12 hr. grave shift waiting for a plow. Can't go 50 feet without spinning to a stop. Poor me.

I do have some entertainment. The folks coming down the hill are totally white knuckled with the "oh shit" look on their face and sliding through the stop sign into the road. Nasty.

Left the house this morning (8,300') with 8" on the ground. Shelved the deck and its that Seattle Cement stuff. Roads not bad coming down the hill for me in the right truck.

Well, I guess I shouldn't have taken the studded snow tires off the car last weekend. I measured 5.5 inches of wet snow early this morning, and the highway is slick. The wife had to go to the Nederland PD to conduct a training session.

I followed tracks of two moose that went through the yard and up the canyon. Didn't run into the moose but apparently two fox also followed those tracks. The hummingbirds need their stocking caps today.

We're at 7 inches now.... I welcome the snow, we need the moisture.

Just got home. Fpur freaking hours later. Followed the grader up the hill and I was still close to sliding off. Two United Power trucks with chains were stuck on the hill, along with cars and trucks, and had to wait for someone to winch out one of the UP trucks that was dug in up to the axle on one side. This is one of the worst conditions I've seen on this hill in 18 years. The rain lately really mushed up the road, then a foot or so of the snow on top. What a mess. But yeah, we needed a good dousing for sure.

If I had my old Jeep with the 35s and "ice slicer" chains I would have got up. I never got stuck in that thing.
