I heard Joe Rogan talking about this in one of his podcasts (probably with Cameron Hanes), and I came across this promotional video tonight on YouTube.

Here is their website: http://www.hecsllc.com/

Basically, their clothes have a wire mesh inside that blocks your electromagnetic signal and allows you to get closer to animals. When I first heard about this on the podcast they were saying it was most effective for predators.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience or knowledge about the products thus far. I think it is a pretty interesting concept.

Well combining rays thread and this, my 2 year old just snuck up on a rabbit at his older brothers school, got 2’ away from it wearing a bright orange shirt and jeans and had crapped in his diaper. So yeah hecs is a sure bet!

I’ve watched a ton of their videos and color me very skeptical. Another cheap antic, like scent killer to spend your money on in hopes of success.

I never know what to think of this stuff or other things like scent killer.

I was once with 2 other guys walking through the woods. All talking loudly, stinky, one guy smoking a cigarette. We come around a bend in the terrain and there's a buck munching away on grass. Looks at us as we stop 15 yards from it. Just keeps eating. Sometimes I think trying to sneak is worse since only predators do that.

Would be interesting to try it.

There are just as many stories and videos of people sneaking up on animals without any special suit though. I suspect most hunters have done it. Heck our local moose herder recently helped deliver a baby moose in his driveway. While I was getting a shouted tutorial of field dressing my very first buck, a young bull elk walked right up to within about 20 yards of us.

Anyway, here are some other videos of animals not being on their game, although sneaking up on prey seems to be different than that cat walking right up to those three hunters in the other video. Maybe if guys start taking Axis Deer with spears or something there will be more followers.

Also saw on Joe Rogan recently

Interesting videos, Irving. In the first one I wonder if they didn't actually use a predator call to bring the bobcat in. But I've had close curious encounters with a bobcat, a few foxes, a coyote and several pine martens. I've also closely approached numerous deer and a few elk by mimicking grazing, even touched and petted a few, but I'd be very reluctant to do that with a mature antlered buck or bull.

As a long time archery hunter and predator caller I am another that just doesn't believe that some special clothing is necessary to experience close encounters with wild critters. I've had a couple of very close encounters both with a bobcat and a few coyotes while calling and I've had elk and deer both very close and I don't wear any special clothing. The fact is movement is a big killer of close encounters as well as your scent. Don't move and don't let them get down wind and they will get plenty close from time to time.
