I have a 2 story, and got a very expensive quote. Double what I was thinking it would/should be.
I'll get a few more but do we have someone on the forum who does this? May as well give a brother the business.

Yeah, painting ain't cheap. We had our house done last year in combination with having some more windows upgraded. I probably could have shopped around for better pricing, but I ended up using a company (Vivax) that did work for a bunch of neighbors and they were pretty happy with them . . . and they also did the windows, so I had one neck to choke with any issues.

There just wasn't any way I was going to DIY the paint with the size of the house and the lack of free time I have with work and stuff. There's something to be said for having a crew come out with the experience and the right equipment and resources and knocking the whole thing out in a few days. I can't imagine how long it would have taken me to do all of that.

You can try my brother whose a painter out of Loveland, but he just landed a huge job with the Amazon buildings. He might be buried for a while. Shoot me a PM if your interested still.

Mazin ?

Probably too big for a single man. I'm guessing you got a quote of about $5000+ right?
It's crazy what the cost has went up to lately. If you plan on staying in your home use Benjamin Moore paint, seriously it's the best I've ever used and Lord knows I flung a lot of the stuff.

PM sent anyway

I'm looking for a house painter to tackle your standard two story in the centennial area.

Check out thumbtack.com

Is that like Home Advisor where you get slammed with cold calls from Sears and a bunch of other referrals till the cows come home?

Never again, I'll use my google fu next time, would have got me to the same guys and less hassle.

Check out thumbtack.com

How's it compare to using Yelp and AngiesList?

I’ll let you know after the paint job (july8-11). I’m sure the ratings can be manipulated. It worked well for a painter and mover, but having trouble finding a guy for masonary/chimney repair

I used a big name company last year and it was a nightmare. Do not use a painting company with "Certa" in the name.

They did a very little little prep and started to paint over bare un-primed areas and places with peeling paint. I caught them and called the job manager. They replaced the original crew but some days the new crew only had one guy show up and the job took over two weeks to complete. I'm finding areas where they didn't paint on trim and some places are starting to bubble and peel now. Lots of paint on sidewalks and they left trash everywhere.

I have a guy he’s painted my home for that I sold for like $2900 power washed and filled in recessed nails with caulk. He also painted the trim of my condo that another painter destroyed and left paint all over. If I need painting done he’s they only guy I will call he’s super reliable and good at painting. Let me know if you want his info!

I've used a guy for (inside) painting that contracts out to Certa*. Referral from a friend. They did a fantastic job on short notice.

Thread revival.
Need a house painted in Longmont. 2 story, got the usual $6k quote from Foothills Painting. This is for power wash, fill in nail holes, prime some deco trim that looks bad and paint with better paint.

6k is pretty reasonable

Yeah, I see paint estimates all the time that are right in that ballpark for exterior on houses.

Ramsker

That's not an unreasonable estimate based on our last experience. 2 story with a large patio cover and we also had some wood trim that needed replacement--also upgraded to better paint and warranty. So we were more than that but not wildly more.
