Going to be up in greeley for a while doing other things but kinda thinking about turning the trip into a date also since apparently that's what married guys still have to do. Despite working there the only thing i know is the road out of town.

Cant be 5 star posh, (not going to be wearing formalwear) but was looking for maybe something more interesting than red Robin. Any interesting non chain american, Chinese, Mexican etc? Or possibly non food destination activities? Small complication of maybe having a couple young children tag along but give me advice either way and I'll figure out if it will work. Time is also variable midday thru early evening.

Since this is my hometown, these are the places I keep on rotation that I enjoy. All have had bad experiences a time or two but generally, I have been happy with the food and service.

Rancho Alegre - Authentic mexican food, amazing menudo
Pollo Feliz - Kind of a fast food/quick sit down place but really amazing food. I've only ever ordered the full pollo and it's delicious. Huge fried bird, stack of corn tortillas, grilled green onions, grilled jalapenos, salsa, beans & rice.
Rumis House of Kabob - Pretty authentic Middle Eastern food. I got the kabob plate and the GF had their hummus and falafels, both were excellent
Cancun Mexican Grill & Cantina - Been there a few times and defiantly better than most run of the mill mexican joints.
La Mariposas - House of Margaritas - Very slow service but good food and a huge selection of margs
Coyote's Mexican Grill - Decent food but $2.99 margs on Saturday. Have enough margs and it's the best food you have ever had.
Santeramos Pizza - Neat old house that has been converted to a Italian joint. Very good pizza/calzones. The italian nachos are really good here. Also have $5 God Father beers and a really good Italian Marg.
Romas - Another pizza/caroli (calzone) place. Mix and match and they have 50% coupons on their website all the time. Every day they have a 'boozoka' special of 32oz of their favorite adult beverage.
Bogey's Golf Course - One of my favorite hangs out for food and drinks. All american food and if you like hot wings, ask for their bomb level ten and try not to let your ears melt off. Literally the hottest wings I have ever eaten.
Outback Restaurant & Pub - Another golf course that serves all american food. Huge all you can eat salad bar with all the fixings.
Wing Shack - Local wing place that specializes in uh.... wings. Bear hot (the hottest) are really good and I can dust a full order without too many problems (initially).
Butters - Breakfast joint that is pretty dang good and will give you a 120ml mimosa tower if you want it.
Sushi 1 - If you like sushi
Kenny's Steakhouse - Pretty good steakhouse
Cables - Really good pizza and other food but you will pay out the nose
JB's Drive in - Girls delivering food out on roller skates still and get yourself a double bacon cheeseburger or the chicken fried basket
Dicky's BBQ - Fast food BBQ that is as good as any.

Add El publito on 10th to your rotation southpaw.

I go there every once in a great while and it’s always good. They have really good micheladas.

Romas? It use to be decent. However if it's like the windsor one i'd avoid them. The (WINDSOR) place has horrendous food, sub par cleanliness when it comes to hand washing and other issues.

Dickeys is a chain. Why try different food places, when a chain is a chain is a chain.

Margaritas at the Rio Grande!

PLEASE........... While their drinks are decent. Their food sucks. IMO if it weren't for gullible people who absolutely had to bring their out of town friends there for the drinks. The place, both Ft Fun & Greality would have closed years ago.

I 3rd El Publito, food's been consistent the times we've eaten there.

I love their Hefeweizen, and really want to try the "Banana bunch" Hefe.

I agree with Southpaw with a few exceptions. I wouldn't go to Kennys for anything, Cattlemans is fair. I like Right Coast Pizza and Wiley Roots Brewery. You have to like IPAS if you go to Weldwerks. We eat at Cancuns once a week, it's about 2 blocks from the house.

They have plenty of non IPA choices.

Unless something has changed dramatically in the last 2 years (I know who owns it, and I don't think they sold it), I'd pass on this suggestion.

When I go toward Greeley, I go to Ruby's BBQ.

Grew up with it, when I'm near one, it is the go-to.

Hard pass for me as well. My old supervisor from Ensign would swear by this place and it’s junk.

Yep. I used to frequent that place and it used to be awesome back in the day, but something changed and it is not the same as it used to be. The staff is very unfriendly and the food blows ass. Back in the day they were always packed and it wasn't uncommon to make reservations to avoid a long wait.

LOL, kind of like the Farmers Inn in LaSalle, bunch of people like it, but I was afraid of getting food poisoning the one and only time I ate there. Food sucked too.

Staff was friendly so there is that.

Lol.

My recommendation would be Denver, Fort Collins, or Cheyenne. Any of them is less than an hour from Greeley and your food options increase in selection and quality exponentially.

We have always got good food at the Romas in Greeley. The service sucks but food is good. If you like calzones you should deffently stop in.

The Rio is perfect for drunk Frat boys and Sorority tarts. Strong margs with everclear added and food that makes Casa Bonita look good.

I'll one up you with Armadillo [ROFL1]. Every once in a great while, we still by Farmers just because it has been there forever and we used to have family birthday's there. Their chips and salsa are about the only good thing there. Jemz next door is pretty good for something different in that area as well as Don Juans.

It's not very good. A very light banana start with a very sour finish. Should be advertised as a sour.

The prices here are great, but nothing is really grabbing my interest.

I wish I knew what people like about Romas, I ate there once and will never let my shadow darken their door again.

Service, cleanliness and food were all bad.

My two oldest kids love the place.

Just can’t figure it out

They are owned by Coyotes, at least Coyotes has great breakfast burritos, or at least they used too

I can't stand the place, but any restaurant I go to, quality food is the priority, not cheap drinks.

Rudy's is good BBQ for a chain. The creamed corn is addictive.

The Rio is good for "light blended Margs" (less syrup & more booze) & Queso Del Mar. The latter is an appetizer that may or may not appear on the menu but it's awesome. Make sure to tell them you want the side of lettuce & tomato to put on them as you make soft shell tacos out of it with the shells they bring. My wife & I split one & have chips plus a few Margs & you're set. Also, request the "Atomica" salsa. It'll change your take on The Rio.

The attraction is a little Mexican food restaurant called El Rodeo. It may not be around as it was a very small ma & pa type shop and the dude refused to advertise. Even his location was an unassuming brick building with a neon sign in the window that advertised "cafe" in a very unappealing manner. The food was incredible. The wife & I would drive over from West of Loveland just to eat there. It's near the corner of 10th & 10th but I'm afraid it may have closed as they were never real busy & the guy wouldn't take any if my marketing advice.

Another spot for Mexican food joint is El Cielo. They've got a lunch buffet for $8 that isn't too eclectic but what's there is delicious. Also available in Loveland.

Stuft is some yummy burgers. Also in Windsor & Fort Collins.

Doug's Day Diner... This place is incredible for breakfast/brunch type foods. Delicious thick cut bacon. Eggs are perfect. Oatmeal is awesome. Make sure you get a "griddle biscuit" with whatever you order even if you have to add one on the side. A little of their fresh made strawberry or apple butter jelly & you'll experience heaven in your mouth.

Fuzzy's food is okay but can be salty. The draw here is the drinks. Get a "Fuzzy's float" which uses their rum & coke frozen drink with a shot of Bailey's floated on top & a Not Your Father's Rootbeer turned upside down in it. It can get sweet towards the end but tastes like a Rootbeer float... Only for adults. Also available in a couple locations in Fort Collins.

Tilted Kilt sucks. I heard it closed. Don't go if it's still in business.
