That’s right. This little critter would likely have met his end under my lawnmower this morning if I didn’t gather him up and place him in a flower pot on the porch. I promptly released him when I was done mowing.

If he wasn’t about the size of a large mouse and cute as a button I likely wouldn’t have had as much sympathy for him. Who knows, when he is a little older if our paths cross I might even be the one to end him for messing up my lawn.

I've lived in my house for over 20 years... never seen as many rabbits around the yard and neighborhood as I have this year.

Same here. They must be multiplying like.... well, rabbits.

In my backyard, that's just a bigger challenge to head-shot with the air rifle.

You are your lawns worst enemy apparently.

We've had a rabbit coming in daily. He eats the dandelions.

Aw, he's so cute. The baby bunnies around here are about the size of little fuzzy apples with ears.

It's probably still suckling off of mom. I'm curious Ray, how are they messing up your lawn? Don't they help with mowing and fertilizing?

We have lots of rabbits around our Palisade home and enjoy watching them. They eat grass and some other native plants but never do any damage other than an occasional spring nest burrow.

Glad you didn't run him over, he's adorable. Your experience ended better than mine did 22 years ago.

I was mowing the grass for a subdivision and the grasshopper I was riding hit a whole family of baby rabbits. I had no idea until it was too late and saw them flying through the air. I was so heartbroken over that. only one survived out of 7. [emoji20][emoji26][emoji22]

We have a ton of 'em. I enjoy having them around to watch. I've never seen them damage anything. There's a stray cat that got into a nest of baby bunnies in the brush in front of the house and killed 5 of them just because it could. That cat is on my shit list. Got close to being removed from the list yesterday...but he got lucky.

I harbor no ill will against our yard bunnies, they're welcome to all the grass they want.

Squirrels on my bird feeders are another story.....

They eat up my lawn too. They focus on the same spot(s) every day...they'll eat a spot bare to the dirt before moving to a new spot. Drives me nuts.

I rescue the little ones as well. But once they're full grown, they meet their maker.

Same here. They must like shade because they focus their attention to an area below the one tree in my back yard. They eat the grass down to dirt in patches and occasionally dig little holes. I think they even gnaw at the bark at the base of the tree.

I figure once my entire lawn is totally destroyed they will likely move on to greener pastures. Literally.

I’m not really a dog person but I’m tempted to get one just to drive the rabbits away. I wonder what breed is made for hunting rabbits?

My Rottie/Lab mix loves chasing the little bastards, they’ve destroyed a large section of the front lawn but at least the backyard is clear because of her. On the flip side one day I found her guarding a baby. We gave it to a neighbor who loves the little buggers.

Siamese Cat man, I watched one carrying off a full grown Rabbit, with it still kicking. Cat looked like he was bored.

Beagles are one, but they may chase them to the next county.

They dig under my patio slab. Bastards.

Have had to put in chicken wire and mortar to keep them out in spots.

Until they strip a round circle in your lawn down to the dirt, and what grows back in its place come spring is a clump of wild field grass.

My back yard is now about 40% of intertwined circles of that crap.

NO MERCY for any rabbit of any age !

These guys were so small they couldn't have gotten away from me if they wanted. I almost stepped right in their little hole and then almost face planted trying to catch myself.
