Heads up to SysAdmins here, that google has recently started declaring that if a site doesn't have a valid SSL certificate, they are going to report it as "unsafe."

https://blogs.msmvps.com/harrywaldron/2018/05/30/security-google-chrome-69-warns-on-non-secure-websites/

Anyway, I get a ton of (new) errors when I try and come here, that I have to wade through.

These guys offer free SSL certs... (and I too will probably be buying some soon.)

my browser shows the site's SSL cert is valid, and using TLS 1.2 as desired. The cert is from comodo.

I mostly use chrome and have seen no issue here. The cert shows valid. Couple warnings under critical extensions, but no issues reported connecting with chrome.

No issues with IE at work (DOD) or Firefox/IE at home on two different laptops (Linux Mint/Win10), nor on iphone (safari).

Perhaps a browser setting/need of update throwing false positives?

Yes, sorry, I appear to have been mistaken. The site does indeed have a good certificate and valid into 2019. I think I may have been hitting a wrong/bad site. :( Sorry for the false alarm.

(I still need to go out and get certs for my sites though.)

You PC guys crack me up.

How are SSL certificates a "PC" thing? Even Linux, Unix, MacOS, iOS, Android, etc. use them.

How are SSL certificates a "PC" thing?

Heck if I know. I?m barely smart enough to use the internet. I know I haven?t seen anything on any of my IOS devices so I just assumed the guys seeing it were running some sort of Windows based PC.

If that's the case, then iOS isn't verifying that the certificate is valid. That's bad security juju.

I'm not seeing errors in Tapatalk on my iPhone, and now Tapatalk is suspect to me. That's not right.
