View Full Version : FFL transfer from a non-FFL out-of-state party in Colorado Springs?

I'm trying to purchase a firearm from a seller out-of-state who doesn't want to go through an FFL on his side. He wants to send the firearm to the FFL in Colorado Springs (where I live), and then the Springs FFL would handle the background check and transfer to me.

Does anyone know of an FFL that will do this sort of thing in Colorado Springs?

Thanks.

That is perfectly within the law here in Colorado. Some states require FFL to FFL transactions, but CO is not one of them. I've done dozens of similar transactions.

What part of town are you in? There's several good FFLs all around the city.

edited to add: Based on your other posts it looks like you've dealt with Shootin Den so if you liked them they'd be a good FFL to use.

I've used The Gun Outlet a lot: http://www.thegunoutlet.com/

Any of them should. Generally they just like to know to expect the shipment.

Also the out of state seller might need a copy of the FFL to show the agent at the UPS or FedEx shipping counter. Generally you have the FFL send that to them (if you use The Gun Outlet, you can have him send the FFL to the seller via his web site instructions here (http://www.thegunoutlet.com/request-a-transfer/newbie/)).

Rich is a good guy and its kinda fun picking up a gun at an Apple Computer dealership where you might frighten some Mac users :)

Not unusual for the dealer to have the seller/shipper of the firearm to include a copy of their driver's license.
