WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS4)– Police in Westminster rushed to a business district Thursday afternoon on reports of a shooting that possibly had more than one victim.

The shooting happened at 5150 W. 80th Avenue in Westminster, that’s near 80th and Sheridan. CBS Denver is reporting two children and two adults were shot. An update on their injuries wasn't made public at the time this article was written.

Police have cordoned off the parking lot of the Comfort Dental office as well as the neighboring parking lot of the Cedarwood Square Office Complex.

Neighboring businesses told CBS4 that there was a lot of police activity in the parking lot.

This is a developing story and this article will be updated.

On June 14, 2018 Westminster Police responded to a shooting at 80th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard.

Westminster Police have the below suspect in custody.

We are again asking the media and the public to not release any pictures of the suspect while we continue the investigation this morning. We will release a booking photo at a later time.

Suspect: Jeremy Webster, 23 years old.

Charges:
18-3-102(1)(A) Murder in the First Degree After Deliberation with Intent
18-3-102(1)(D) Murder in the First Degree Extreme Indifference
18-3-202 Assault in the First Degree
18-2-101 Criminal Attempt to Commit a Class One Felony

The adult female and juvenile male are still in critical condition as of this morning.

Through our investigation we have been able to determine the suspect did not know any of the victims and did not have a relationship with any of them. It appears as if this incident stemmed from a road rage.

Police: Colorado shooting may have stemmed from road rage

WESTMINSTER — One boy died and his brother and mom remained in critical condition Friday following a shooting the night before in a suburban Denver parking lot, according to police.

Westminster police released a statement saying a man unrelated to the other three victims was also shot, but is expected to survive.

Police have arrested 23-year-old Jeremy Webster on suspicion of first-degree murder, first-degree murder extreme indifference and assault.

The suspect was in custody about three hours after the shooting. Police did not release his name because they wanted to present photo line-ups to about 20 witnesses. They continue to withhold his booking photo.

Officers said there is no relationship between the gunman and the victims.

"It appears as if this incident stemmed from a road rage," police said in a statement Friday.

The victims' names and ages haven't been released.

Officers who arrived at the scene found four people with gunshot wounds in a business complex parking lot in Westminster, which is about 14 miles (23 kilometers) northwest of Denver.

Police surrounded the complex that holds several dental offices, using yellow tape to block access to the area and placing evidence markers. A road next to the business park was temporarily closed to traffic, and police also closed several lanes of another major road nearby.

Public records show Webster’s last known address at the apartment complex at 5362 N. Nevada Ave., near Costco and Trader Joe's [Colorado Springs], but several residents questioned there didn’t recognize his name.

A couple living next door to apartment 324, where Webster is last registered as living, said they’ve heard water running in the apartment but have never seen the occupant inside. Residents typically keep to themselves, they said, declining to provide their name.

It says that Webster allegedly used a Glock 19 handgun to commit the shooting and that one of the boys gave police an account of what happened, saying that his mother “had some sort of altercation near the intersection of Sheridan Blvd. and Turnpike Drive.”

The boy allegedly told police that Jeremy Webster then followed his mother’s car into the office building parking lot where the shootings unfolded. Three children were in the car; the woman took a photo of Webster’s license plate and then exited the car with her children, at which point an argument ensued, DenverChannel.com reported.

Horrifically, the boy told police that Webster then shot the mother and two boys multiple times. “He started to walk back toward his car, then turned around and shot one of the boys again as he was on the ground,” the television station reported of the boy’s account. The adult male who was shot was in a different vehicle and Jeremy Webster is then accused of approaching it and shooting that man, the television station reported.

Just found out that the Husband of the wife shot is an old family friend. Grew up on a swim team together with his brother and sister in 80's. Hell, his mom through my wife a wedding shower. Husbands mom and dad, sister and bil where all in Australia when this went down. We have a couple of the old group hanging out with the dad in the hospital, while the rest of fam is flying back. My mom has been in contact with the extended group and is getting updates, but that's all. Pray for them, great family and all but 1 (a sil) are really good people.
