I am led to believe that they got me what I requested: another shirt with their handprints painted on (craft time activity).

I take two of them to the airport in the morning and have the house to myself for 2 weeks. Yay!

If your kids are buying you gifts you obviously didn’t beat them as much as I beat mine.

I wished mine didn't give me anything, but alas they did anyway. I did like the hugs.

My wife bought me a new grill, so I am spending the day assembling it. It’s a combo gift for Father’s Day and my birthday. The kids are 3.5 and 1, so they’re takers, not givers :)

That's a nice gift, Bob. Your daughter done good.. :)

I'll call my Dad tomorrow, we're not really on a gift level for the last 20 years or so. I think there are many of us that don't have the "normal" family value system that many DO get to experience. I'm not complaining, just sharing. I look forward to saying howdy in the morning though.

I told my kids years ago (when they were in elementary school) not to buy me anything for Father's Day, my birthday, Christmas, etc. This is because they couldn't really afford anything except junk stuff and I have enough junk stuff. Instead, I told them to make me something, like a card, if they really wanted to get me something. I think I have all of the cards they ever made for me (my youngest is 26).

My daughter, SIL, and grandkids will be coming over for Sunday dinner this evening. That's a weekly thing we do and is enough of a gift from them for me.

My son (the 26yo) and his best friend planned a day out fishing for themselves for yesterday. He has no gear so asked if he could borrow mine (I said yes). He lives 5 minutes away but the only time we see him is @ the weekly Sunday dinner. Any time with him is a gift. On Tuesday, he said he and his buddy wanted to do a father/son day of fishing and asked if I was interested in going. While I needed to do lots of stuff around the house, I took the opportunity to go fishing (I mean, who wouldn't prefer to go fishing; right?!). We got to Terryall Resv @ about 8AM yesterday and fished until 7PM. I only caught 2 and he didn't catch any, but we both had a great day and I cherish the time we had together. On Friday I bought him his own rod/reel combo and I'll be building him up his own stocked tackle box.

Yeah, no physical gifts, but I'm blessed anyway.

Yeah, no physical gifts, but I'm blessed anyway. This is how I would prefer it, I think we live in a very materialistic world, and I'd rather my relationship with my boys not be a part of it.

A casting of his footprint. He is 2 and I’m not gonna lie. Made me cry a little. It’s good to be a Dad.

Wife got me tickets to see Alice in Chains. My daughters are too young to know what's going on but I got a card from them anyways. I've kept every card they've given me.
