If anyone sees this 1911 on the shelf somewhere I'm interested in buying one. Better yet, if someone owns this i would be interested in your thoughts. My main interest is in inspecting it since I will most likely buy online unless the pricing is close and/or I like the shop

They only make 4 versions of this one, so if any version was located let me know, I think the build quality will be the same

Thanks

Getting in to that kind of money for a 1911 would make me seriously consider ordering a Volkmann.

I was not aware of Volkmann Precision, but their Centennial Edition caught my eye for $8K!!!! Frankly, that's just out of my comfort zone in price, the $1900 tag ($1650 on gunbroker)of the Standard Mfg is tolerable for a pistol I may or may not shoot. However, I have shot every firearm I have ever purchased, so I don't see that trend changing. There were only 3 videos on youtube I found and all of them praised the fit, finish, and precision of this one. But in the end, I really wasn't even looking at a 1911, but I have a soft spot for real case hardened look and it kind of upended my wish list. I thought I was set to buy a Garand before I saw this 1911.

Oh well

If you just want a color case hardened pistol, get a Springfield TRP and send it to Turnbull Restoration. They do the most beautiful CCH I’ve ever seen.

No argument here but I can't touch a Turnbull 1911 for 1700 bucks. Basically for me, if a gun exceeds $2k, it's not an option.

Turnbull restored pistols retain their value and some collectibles even increase in worth. You can send a pistol you already own to them and get an estimate.
