They did not have the correct size gable vent on site the other day so they cut the siding and laid it out in preparation for adding the vent. I get home yesterday and see guy on roof working on their "punch list" of stuff that needs attention. In this case adding vent and straightening up the trim work around it. My curiosity got the better of me thankfully and I made a trip to attic to discover that they not only did not cut the hole under it but left the new house wrap covering the original vent holes..... Makes me want to be a nitpicking pain in the proverbial ass when I walk through it for issues with them...

On the other hand it cracks me up, what was the guy thinking...

Not going to be very helpful that way for sure.

Maybe they work on new builds where those are non-functional?

We had to have soffit vents cut due to lack of passive ventilation. Our table “vents” are just for show.

So they were at the house this week working on some issues, I checked the attic to see if they pulled the vent off and cut the hole and removed the wrap from the opening. Their crews solution was to cut the insect screen on the brand new vent to open up a hole on the wrap......Genius work there. How I found it last week on the left, their "fix" on the right. The screen in the left pic is the original screen covering the 4 original holes. and is not present in the right picture. They really are not going to enjoy the walk through....

Lol been there done that! It’s even more fun with an entire house.

My personal favorite was when my 220 kept tripping the breaker. After the third time I pulled the outlet to find exposed wiring was arcing. At least it wasn’t a fire hazard! [fail]

I need to add some vents for my attic but I think I'll do it a little differently!

You'd think someone would be smart enough to say, "the owner crawled up in the attic to check it once . . . you can bet he'll do it again. Fix it the right way when you are up there."

You know how I can tell you've never worked construction?
