As suppliers go for AR15 barrels and such what can anyone tell me about Bear Creek Arsenal?

I have built a couple long range using there 24" barrels. They both group well at 100yds with plinking reloads. Haven't stretched their legs yet so not sure how well they will perform at distance. If you search around you can find some killer deals on them.

I’ve used about six of them in various lengths and calibers. So far they have all been within specs for headspace and have shot MOA or better at 100 yards with handloads. Not sure if my results are typical or if I’ve just been lucky.

I used one of their barrels and free-float MLOK hand guards for my oldest son's build. The fit & finish is great and the gun ran like a top.

I have a couple of their light weight profile barrels that I got for around $50 or something back a while ago.

I have one of them installed on my rifles and I only have about 50 rounds through it. They are nitrided and the bores are quite dirty. I think I was getting around 2 moa with some potential for better. I just think I need to shoot more through it and break the barrel in more than an other barrel.

I read somewhere that they are capable of good accuracy, you just need to break them in real good and they'll settle down.

I received my 1st BCA bbl last year as part of their Veterans Day, free barrel for vets give away.

Very happy with the few i have. The x39 HB is literally a Heavy BBL under the hand guards, which is great for the trigger i run with it. The 10" 300 blk 1:8 is also a good shooter. IF you're a veteran i believe they offer a discount.

I'm planning on sighting in a carbine with one of their barrels tomorrow. If I think about it I'll try and post up some pictures of the groups once I get it sighted in.

Thanks Ray and all the others that offered support. My initial concern was these barrels look great and are priced so much less expensive than almost any others I have considered I was afraid there was a problem, you know, the get what you paid for kind of thing.

Well, just got back from the range. Didn’t quite get the results with this one that I was hoping for but honestly I was a little off my game today. That and I haven’t got set up to start loading for the 6.5 Grendel yet so I was shooting factory ammunition. Also, it was a little windy. Anyhow, all things considered and taking into account it really wasn’t a good shooting day for me I was getting groups around 1.5 MOA give or take. I think on a less windy day when I could focus (mentally and visually) a little more and with some decent hand loads I could cut the size of the groups in half.

This is my “coyote rifle”.

Here is the last five shot group I fired before I kind of gave up and started just shooting three shot groups.

And these were the last couple of groups that I fired right before I totally gave up and left.

Take my results for what they were. I was in a hurry as I have other stuff going on, my eyes weren’t focusing for me, it was a bit windy, I was using factory ammunition, and the scope that currently sits on the rifle maxes out at 9X. I do think the barrel is capable of more than I could do on this particular day. I could be wrong. Maybe that’s all I’m going to get for $60.

Also, using the AR platform for precision work really isn’t my cup of tea. I’m more comfortable behind a bolt action with a more traditional stock.

Also, the other Bear Creek barrels I’m using are 5.56 and shoot better. This is the first 6.5 Grendel barrel I’ve tried.

I ordered three. Fluted Stainless 18” 5.56, also a Spiral Fluted 16” and a 300 Blackout.

I will post my experience when I get some (experience)[emoji48]

I may be parting with a few of the barrels that I have. I’m like a woman and buy stuff I don’t really need just because it’s on sale. I’ll have to see what I have. I think I have a stainless heavy barrel in 5.56 that’s fluted, and 18” 6.5 Grendel maybe, and possibly a couple of others.
