Yep I was not happy to see a rat in there, the neighbor two houses down has goats and chickens, so mouse have been a constant battle.

THe cinderblock is holding the game camera for the second half of the video, the "bait" is the fact there is an opening in the fence there that they are using on a regular basis that I blocked with the cinder block, the skunks frustration with it being in the way is entertaining to watch.

It is clearly a known pathway with all these animals and a funnel effect to that point.

That gap in the fence is the perfect choke point for a live trap, or a snare. I'd use a snare in a heart beat were it not for the cats.

Something is burrowing under the shed. I am trying to establish what it is. As far as the animals passing through I would love to capture and remove the skunks the rest do not bother me at all. At this point it is entertainment other than whats living under and damaging the shed.

This is the normal pathway the animals have had with nothing blocking it. And a second video after I blocked it.

You could try some Liquid Fence (https://amzn.to/2K5uqvL). The label says "deer and rabbit repellent" but I put it around my garden and NOTHING goes in there now. This stuff stinks when you first apply it - it's made partly from putrefied eggs after all. But after it's dry, humans cannot detect it at all.

There is a product called Ssscat that I used for a similar situation. Electronic eye with an inert aerosol spray that works fairly well in low light. It's intended for indoor use, but a modified $1 plastic food canister worked well as a weather resistant housing. Used it for a week at night & all the unwelcome beasties decided to find another avenue.

*Caveat - I did not have skunks in the nightly parade

we had sunk problem while back and used this to keep them out.
get 1 lb. of habanero pepper 1 can of back pepper bend it pour it in a jug and fill it with hot water after an hour pour it around the back yard and it should keep them out for one month

We had raccoons trash our deck like low-rent rock stars on a nightly basis a few years ago...and one of them growled at me and scared the crap out of me. So I went WAY overboard and bought mothballs, ammonia, and crystalized coyote pee from Ace Hardware. I dumped it everywhere around the deck. You could see the stink lines from space.

NOTHING used the deck after that. For a year. Not us, not the bastard raccoons.

I may have gone a bit overboard, but I imagine used in lesser amounts, the combo might drive out whatever is burrowing under your shed.

Skunks will burrow under things for their dens, I can't say that I've seen Racoons do that. Prairie Dogs are always an option as well, they can turn up just about anywhere.

As for getting rid of the problem, fix the fence.
