View Full Version : Springs 8/11
Haven't been to one in the Springs for a while. How big is this show? Is it worth going to for $10?

In my humble opinion, not this one.
I haven't seen or heard of the other company that puts on show having one in a while (probably because I've been preoccupied and disconnected), but they had a good show - this one is too small and too much jerky and jewelry for my taste. The last time I went to this show was several years back and I made it through all of the tables with no real desire to buy anything in about 20 minutes.

Last of that show I attended had many home improvement stands; windows, roofs, doors, gutters. Several survival tables, lots of ammo. Maybe half the room was firearms. ...but it's better than yardwork!
Well i cannot go anyway now. Went to the ER yesterday morning with chest pain. Put in stent number eight yesterday afternoon. I have take it easy for a few days.
Thanks for the info.

Just to recap gun shows in Colorado Springs..
SERTOMA appears to be done..
RK Shows has been edged out...
There was some local promoter.. that just faded...
SO, here is what we have now:
http://www.coloradospringsgunshow.com/
FROM THE WEB SITE>>
Shop hundreds of tables full of guns, ammo and knives at the Colorado Springs Gun & Knife Show August 11th & 12th at the Colorado Springs Event Center, 3960 Palmer Park Boulevard at Academy. There will be guns, knives, ammo, archery, gun parts, reloading supplies, holsters, and other related products, many at discounted prices!
The promoter is a firm in Missouri that runs all sorts of shows all over the USA.
This weekend will be my first time doing this show.
Fortunately it is a short drive for me!
Richard
Under new promoters, might be worth checking out. That and it's nice to shoot the breeze with Richard.

I do hope so.
We can stand one well run and properly advertised show here.
I liked the RK show because Ryan actually "ran" it!
SERTOMA got to the point it was like they just let everyone do their "thing" and the show just happened.
This time will be my first exposure to this promoter and I hope it goes well.
Thing is, I should not be spending! I have been selling off parts of my collection to pay for something I am buying.
Check the used guns on the SDS web site!
Richard
Hmm, may have to trundle down there.....

Good luck to Richard and Gloria of APEX. Hope it is a GREAT sales day for you folks. If I still lived in Colorado, I would be seeing them today.
I have a few errands to run this morning but hopefully I'll see you later Richard.

Ok, sitting outside the event. Opens at 10 and I got here at 9:30.
Was hoping to get a peek inside to see if it was worth my admission.
I will report if I go in.

Well I went in, it was organized, little spread out but clean. Some new vendors and some familiar faces. I did not make any purchases because I was looking for something specific.
I did get in for $4 though. I did not realize it until later when I went to the store to buy a soda. The lady in the cash cage/ticket booth (new) gave me back a bunch of ones and there was a fiver in there so I got back $16.
There were a lot of “Gunshow special” prices but but nothing spectacular. Maybe a Heritage.22 Single Action revolver for $149 that looked fun.
Over all for a Sunday morning it was fun . No Tanner but still fun.
I went Saturday for a bit. Overall it was ok. It felt kinda slow but I guess with the new promoter and all it'll take a bit for it to build back up.
Did get to stop by and say hi to Richard and Gloria. I think that they are the biggest draw to that show, at least for me anyways :)
Did see a couple of things I wouldn't have minded bringing home but the wife would have made me walk home. [LOL]

Thank you for the kind words!
We always enjoy visiting with our customers.
Everyone has a different area of interest and so there is always something new to learn.
It took quite a while to set up, just adjusting to the new circumstances.
I passed on some good deals, figured I should give the paying customers a chance at a bargain.
WISH I HAD seen the Armalite marked M-16 mag with the "waffle" body!
That I would have added to the "accumulation" on my own shelf at home.
Richard
I believe there is a show in the Springs this weekend. "I believe...". That is how poorly it is advertised . Anyone go?

I did. Friend gave an VIP pass so I got in free. It was OK but nothing I was looking for. I’m a lookie loo. Was out getting my sons phone repaired so I figured I drop in. Standard prices.

(Yes, I know it isn't in the scope of the thread title, but)
There's going to be a Tanner show in Colorado Springs next weekend.
13/14 Oct. 2018
Penrose Events Center, 1045 Lower Gold Camp Road
starts 9AM Sat and Sun.
I can't remember that we ever had a Tanner show in town.

Good to know. I wonder if Richard from Apex will be there? Mostly my reason going to the shows here.

APEX Gun Parts has 2 spaces at the Knob Creek show & MG shoot (Kentucky) 12th thru 14th of October!
So, Gloria and I will NOT be at this TANNER show at the remodeled Penrose Events center.
Richard
Ah, I wish I could go to Knob Creek. Have fun!

SO, anyone attend the TANNER show in Colorado Springs?
I am curious about the attendance and the number of vendors that set up to sell.

I didn't attend, but I did drive by it on the way to Walmart and the parking lot looked pretty full.
