Wanting a green reticle holographic or (good) red dot for my new build. Was looking at the newer eotech, but given the company's fail rate, I was looking at other options. Looking primarily at the Vortex Huey and the Holosun 510 elite.

Anyone have experience with either? Or other recommendations? I like a larger window optic, not a big fan of the small tube red dots. Absolute co-witness is a must.

Holosun is winning for now.

How about the Burris prism sight in 1x? Uses a AA battery.

Reticle is black when power is off; you can choose red or green:

I'd go burris or vortex sparc. Both of those have warranty protection that is proven. Prism 1x sights supposedly have less problems with astigmatism.

Holosun/primary arms/sig romeo(?) red dot sights have had their share of "issues" when used hard. Hobby use is probably ok, i just don't like wasting $ or time on stuff. Too many questionable reviews at m4carbine.net and TAG with the holosun for me to have confidence in them. https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2015/10/08/unsuitable-range-holosun-review/
