View Full Version : Armslist does something (else) stupid (again)

So Armslist has "upgraded" its interface again. This time they removed from the search filters under "Firearms" (http://www.armslist.com/classifieds/colorado/guns) things like "Manufacturer", "Caliber", and "Action Type". So now if you want to see all the 9mm Glocks or .45 Colt Lever Guns you're just SOL.

I guess they just expect you to wade through every listing until you find what you're looking for, or do a search for what you want and get a bunch of unrelated crap because people put a string of unrelated words in the description in hopes of tricking you into looking at their listing.

Well I guess we don't need the libs to ruin Armslist and run them off the internet, they'll do that themselves.

I haven’t been on there in years, but that sounds ludacris to me. Hope they put it back, for you guys’ sake.

I usually don't really read Armslist looking for anything specific. I kind of just read through all the listings as is. Once in a great while I'll see something that I want. That's still lame that they removed those filters.

Dumb move. If a number of us email them, maybe they will put the filters back.

I complained via their "contact us" and have heard nothing. Based on how responsive they've been in the past I wouldn't hold my breath.

What we need is several of their "Premium Vendor" members to email and say "fix this or we leave".

The old saying "you had it right in the first place".

I used the contact us as well. It often required three days to respond when i used it in the past.

I just received a reply from armslist. The site was slow or crashing from a problem with the filter logic. They are trying to get the filters back in p!ace. No time frame given.

Armslist is down again. Maybe they are fixing the filters.

I noticed the issue as well, but found a back door search. Here you go: http://www.armslist.com/classifieds/powersearch

Thanks for the link - the search worked using Armslist, so they must have done something to fix it.
Good to have the back door for next time. I haven't looked there for months and I did find a pistol I am interested in.

Thanks for the powersearch tip. The site is still missing the option to only search used items, though. Since I'm a bottom feeder for the most part, postings for new items are irrelevant.
