So... I need help.

The stock on my .22LR rifle is "loose". Meaning that I can tap the receiver and make it rock up and down in the stock. All screws are tight but there is still play. This is very new as it was rock solid last time I was out. Not sure where to even start. I disassembled the receiver from the stock and put it back on, making sure everything was on correctly, I mean, it's not hard... but apparently something is going on.

It's a Tac-Sol x-ring receiver in a Victor Co. aftermarket stock.

So, mastersmith's: best way to fix?

Thank you.

Gunsmith...
Harless Precision is in you neighborhood. They know their way around 22's.

Make sure the rear tension adjusting screw below isn't interfering with receiver installation.

I have this same issue with the victor stock with my PWS toggle bolt and only once it was the rear screw adjuster too far out. The other times I just re-install until it lines up properly and doesn't move. I know that isn't very scientific or finding the real cause, but it's what I have to do with my rifle every cleaning. IF I don't get it perfectly lined up my 2x magazine holders will slightly bind on one side just enough to not drop free, single mags without the 2x holder drop free regardless of how the receiver is installed.

Good to know... I'll try to re-seat it once more before I go to the smiths...

Thanks!
