Gem and fossil show this week

If you have kids into dinosaurs or rocks I recommend taking them to the show.
Started Saturday and runs thru next Sunday.
Free admission. I'm talking about the Denver coliseum on the Southside of I-70 at Brighton Blvd. Lots if neat things to see in the basement and in the back parking lot.

Just to be clear I was talking about the event in the coliseum on the south side of Interstate 70.
I have never wandered over to the stuff on the north side.

There is the main show at the merchandise mart. Not free but more educational displays and hands on things other than just dealers selling.

My wife has family that mine for gems/crystals down by Lake George. I'm sure they will be there as dealers selling what they have found here in Colorado. Amzanite and Smokey quartz crystals are only found grown together here in Colorado. Nowhere else in the world as far as I know. Worth big bucks for a nice specimen to collectors.

There are something like a dozen different shows going on around denver this week/weekend

pretty neat show. Spent half of Saturday there with the wife and kids. Also got some good brownie points, wife got to pick out all kinds of sterling silver jewelry with different elements on them for under $50 and she was ecstatic. Also they have a full size TRex you can stand next to on the second floor. I was shocked walking into that room and seeing a full size TRex in there. Son was bragging to all the kids in the neighborhood the rest of the day about the TRex. Recommend stopping by for a bit, cheap entertainment.
