Had not shot it in close to a decade, and had not been to the range all year. I needed to get out and shoot.

Love it but even as a Para-Fal it is a heavy pig (but thats just speaking of range use). Austrian Para Kit built by DSA and bought at Jensens in Loveland years ago..
Fall goodness, hell it's not even mine and still put a smile on my face[Beer]

I would say I need to adjust the gas setting but it looks like it is ejecting erratically and not in a constant location. Oh well just another reason to shoot it again.

Thanks. The last time I took the family to the range all of the rifle spots were taken. The daughter was disappointed she did not get to shoot the Bushy and I did not get to shoot the M1. Next time.
I have a Super Blackhawk that I have not shot in over 20 years, I guess I should pull the brute out and shoot it. Took this photo about that long ago.

I fell in love with the FAL many years ago when I shot one of the first imported to the U.S. Owned two since then and have an Imbel/Coonan’s kit that needs assembly.

I've always wanted one but never had one. You just re-kindled me wanting one again. Thanks for nothing!
I chuckled a bit. Looks like you kind of crowd the rear sight like I did when I had my para FAL. I ruined a pair of Oakley’s last time I took mine out. The rear sight would just kiss the lens on my sunglasses. Didn’t notice it while I was shooting but when I was done the right lens was all scratched to hell. Fortunately for me a member here was kind enough to get me some replacement lenses with his law enforcement discount so I was able to save the glasses.
Mine had the fixed stock so maybe it technically wasn’t a para model?

Back in the early 1980's a local shop acquired about 50 or 60 FN made FALs. They were selling them for $600 each and they were like new. I went to buy one but they were so heavy, I passed. Of course, now ...

I have had my nose kissed by the Para too. Honestly I think the stock is all wrong for me, and its turned the FAL into a love hate thing for me. Does not help the para has a giant steel block at back of reciever.

One learns the ins and outs of them. I have built dozens and owned 6 at one time. I also have what is considered the lightest one ever built. All aluminum 5.8 lbs and shoots the 7.62X25 round. I have my metric gun that I love. The best comprise is a DSA aluminum lower, type 1 upper and 18" barrel with the right furniture is a good setup that is a few lbs lighter and comfortable for most. 76139
