So I am sitting in the local VA clinic today and I heard this alert coming from someones cell phone today. I thought maybe it was coming from a local radio station. I had my cell phone on, but I didn't get any alert. Anybody get this test of the Emergency Broadcast system on their cell phone? Just curious.

Yup, everyone's phones in the cube farm went off in groups over the course of 20 minutes. Probably separated according to carrier - but not sure.

Exact same people would have talked about visionary and 21st Century it was if it had been done 2-3 years ago. It makes sense since people don't listen to the radio the way they used to. Does zip for those of us who have to leave their phones in the car while at work.

Sent from my SM-G960U using TapatalkI don't know if you can turn off recieving of the alert, but I had do not disturb enabled and ringer turned off, and recieved no audible alert, just the pop up notifying me of the alert.

That Bloomberg report is incredible. The fact that we've been using ANY China made components in military/gov equipment is insane. That's just asking for it.

It creates a deeper question. If we were to enter into WW3, with China as an enemy, what would happen to the world's strongest military? Even if not compromised, we'd have a pretty hard time building new equipment without Chinese made microchips...
