Anybody just catch the pair of F-16's that zoomed over the Northglenn/Thornton area about 15 minutes ago at low altitude?
Good window rattlers.

Nope.
When I lived in Aurora and Buckley was a Air National Guard base, we had F-16's flying low on a daily basis.

We've had jets and even a couple V22 Ospreys flying around The Springs for the last few days ... Them Ospreys are weird looking things (and LOUD ... I think louder than Blackhawks).
I was wondering what the fly over was about. Maybe something to do with the Rockies game?
Oh, and I thought it was “the pattern is pulled”.
Waiting for the Jade Helm ppl to chime in
Yeah, went over us just after 2pm. They tend to circulate over Highlands Ranch prior to flyovers at Mile High, so probably the same routine for the baseball playoffs.

Walmart is just a secret code for "MARTial LAW". The presidents name is TRU-MP (true military police). See it all makes perfect sense now...

They have been flying all over town all day, must be some sort of reservist weekend at Buckley. Either that or practice runs for the Rockies game.
They were doing touch and goes at Buckley around noon, guys getting their ratings maintained I'd guess. I live about 3/4 of a mile due north of there, they were coming in right over the house, then taking off again to the south.

Makes sense if it was a flyover, at least something good came of the game eh?

Never knew we were neighbors. I'm just north of buckley.

Flyover during the cadets noon formation Friday right over my house. F22, warthogs, ospreys, f15. Interesting 30 minute display.

:DWell, turns out the Walmart thing was half true. They were just housing immigrants there instead of conservative Americans.
A 2pm flyover must have been for the rockies game.
A 2pm flyover must have been for the broncos game.
I don't think they made it to New York in time.

I had F-16 buzz my house low enough to rattle the windows when I lived in Penrose...
And I had a pair of A-10s so low they were lower than my house.
Also had a stray paratrooper land in my neighbor's pasture.

Grew up in the San Luis valley the jets pop over Hayden pass at the north end and haul ass south and go back over at la veta. They used to buzz the tractors during harvest all the time.
There was an sr71 blackbird that buzzed my home town. Quite an experience...

I remember hearing sonic booms from a Blackbird over Louisville.
I have been a fan of the Blackbird since I was old enough to understand what that plane was capable of.

If anyone is ever in the Tucson area, I highly recommend the Pima Air & Space Museum. They have some SR71 stuff thats awesome. Okay pretty much every thing there is. They even have a NASA guppy, crazy. Plan at least 3 hours, or the whole day if you're really into aviation. Oh & the helicopters! & the Marauder! & the flag from Normandy! & & &...!

It was a little freaky... but we lived just South of Ft. Carson- and saw them jumping out of perfectly good airplanes all the time. We figured it was a prank on a FNG, getting him to jump way too early. I'm sure it was way worse day for him- the liberal woman that lived there was none too pleased about it, but gave him a ride back to the gate.

There’s also a Titan missle silo/museum. When my family moved there in ‘68 my dad used to take me out to Davis-Monthan to watch the U2s do their “touch & go”, good times for a kid for sure.

The Davis - Monthan AFB boneyard tour is the bees knees of aviation tours if ever get a chance to go on one. Did it in 1976.

I guess an evolution of the expression is in order. I just didn't see any of them crash.

I lived there at the same time. There was only a fence on Golf Links Road and no fence to the east or south of the boneyard.
Lots of O-2 Skymasters flying formation. The A-7's had only been flying there for a couple years at that point too. The brand new A-10's showed up in March 1976 at Davis Monthan and began flying a lot there.
Skies were definitely busy over Tucson back in the mid 1970's. Occasional F-4's out of Luke in Phoenix would show up too.
RE: Pima Air Museam is great but another must go to is Wright Patterson Air and Space Museum.... Pima is good, Wright Patt is awesome... but they also have an XB-70

Yup, I was there from ‘68-‘84. Witnessed the pilot punch out of the Corsair over the U of A campus in 1978.

One of the remaining (crash landed) SR-71 prototypes is at the Museum of Flight (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Museum_of_Flight) at Boeing field up near Seattle. There was also an M-21 variant that had a launchable drone, one of two remaining after the other crashed. http://www.museumofflight.org/Exhibits/blackbird
SR-71A (61-7977 / 2028)
This aircraft ended its career in flames by skidding 1000 feet off the end of runway 14 at Beale AFB, California on 10 October 1968. The takeoff was aborted when a wheel assembly failed. Capt. James A. Kogler was ordered to eject, but pilot Maj. Gabriel Kardong elected to stay with the aircraft. Both crew members survived.

The sound of FREEDOM!!!
I miss the days when I worked in the flight path of Carswell AFB. B-52s so low you can count the rivets. The B-1s would fly down when there was bad weather in Abilene. I also remember watching F-8 Crusaders coming in and out of Naval Air Station Dallas.
