View Full Version : Drudge Report
http://www.drudgereport.com captured maybe 25% of the facts/info during the last three weeks of the Kavanaugh saga. The links Drudge posted were usually heavy commentary, many Lib biased. There were better stories with more facts/info and some even from Lib sources. CNN actually had a couple of good ones but Drudge posted WashPoo links instead.
In cases where he did link to good info, it was a solid 24 hours lagging behind release most days.
So Drudge is no longer my #1 go to site. And I recommend anyone else who is a regular checker start diversifying your news. I don't know if Drudge is just tired/done, has an ideological issue, or a chip on his shoulder. I started hitting Drudge back in the late Clinton days before I even had internet at home! Seems like he's changed after Obama.
I like the idea of aggregators (single sources don't get you everything) but haven't found a good alternative.
Twitter has been good lately! Following a handful of Conservatives gets me good sources, fast. And they are often commenting on Lib sources as well so it's hardly an echo chamber. For example, today there is a lot of commentary on Libs planning to target "white women." Drudge has an Axios piece on "radicalization" that doesn't get me any of the overt racism/targeting and of course lays it all on Trump (identity politics didn't start with Trump).
YMMV

I've noticed a change in Drudge, too. It never was my go-to site but I'd check it occasionally during big events. I always thought it was too cluttered looking and hard to find what I was looking for. But I did notice the tone of his info/sources was heavily biased in favor of the left during the recent hearings.

Drudge is still my number one site....I want to see the whoopee lights for the passing of Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer!
Breitbart is my second source. Then Fox News then the Daily Caller.
Until you mentioned it, I didn't remember that I used to check Drudge regularly. I didn't care for the way the news became more about infotainment years ago, and I usually knew about the news he had before I checked the site. I just quit hitting the site several years ago.

Try whatfinger.com
Interesting. They even have a section for what's linked at Drudge.
Gave up on Drudge during the gay marriage debates when his pillow-biting bias came through. I still check in on occasion, but rarely see anything I hadn't already found elsewhere - more to just see what the "popular" opinion is reading any given day.

I'll check these out, thank you!
Drudge had no delay/issues reporting Taylor Swift's political comments this morning! [LOL]
Which is good because I was very uncomfortable not knowing Swift's political views. Now that is resolved so my life can go on.
It's like he wants to be the political version of the National Inquirer.
Thanks for the other sources. I've been going to Whatfinger - https://www.whatfinger.com/ I already read conservative treehouse and thegatewaypundit

Saw that yesterday elsewhere...so that goes back to my original points.
A day late and I really don't give a rat's ass about what some entertainer thinks. Dance, monkey, dance.

FWIW, Feedly is not partisan - it is just a useful compiler, but it will take some input to get started.

I use Flipboard as an aggregator. I always saw Dudge as the National Enquirer of conservative "news" although he's got some things right over the years (like Monica Lewinsky and the blue dress) as has the NE.
Not the least surprised by Taylor Swift's political stance, only by her willingness to step forward and say something publicly now. Probably more of the entertainment industry influence but completely predictable when you see who her posse is. She may be from Tennessee but she always seemed to be influenced by values from NY/NJ/CT/MA ...
