First a stroke, then a shattered ankle and now a jury duty notice ! I am on a no driving notice from my physician for the stroke and I couldn?t drive even if I wanted to because of the soft cast I am supposed to wear 24/7 and the pain meds would impair me if I were to figure a work around for the cast. And even if I made it to the jury duty , I cannot string three coherent words together without sounding like “Mush Mouth” off of “Fat Albert”
Sheesh, when it rains it pours.......

The woe is me rant is over now......

Just call them and explain the medial concerns, and they won't push it.

Sorry to hear that more has gone sideways on you.

I'll continue to pray for healing and a quick recovery for you!

Damn, Bob... If it weren't for bad luck you wouldn't have any luck at all. Sorry, man.

You should find a way to make it to jury duty.

I think it would be hilarious to see you in the jury box looking like some kind of adult with special needs.

I’d just need a soft helmet and a set of depends with rubber pants over them & I would be set......

Sorry to hear about the ankle. They're the weak link when you have difficulty stably placing your feet, or even feeling your feet. I got some good news yesterday that the right one that I broke in March is actually healing close to the position that it should be so PT and no surgery for me at this time. I've fractured the fibulas in left and right while taking some nasty spills in the past 2 years.

I hope you can bounce back from this ASAP and continue you're recovery! As my dad tells me, getting old isn't for the meek.

I have also learned not to say "It can't get any worse."

Give them a call. They're not unreasonable.

Take care of yourself Bob!

A legit doctors note will get you released from jury duty.

Yep, read through the notice, just having the hassle of chasing around for this right now is a pain, literally a pain.......

I feel your pain re: the jury duty. Mrs BG just spent 2 hours at the courthouse this morning filling out a questionnaire and being interviewed for an upcoming homicide trial as a potential juror. That's gonna throw a real wrench into the works if she gets picked for the trial.

If I were in a better physical situation and didn’t have so many scheduled appointments for my condition, I would not have complained and done my civic duty.
Just to make the show up date I would have to reschedule two appointments and have my wife wait for hours during the interview and selection process (that took until 1730 hrs the last time I got a jury duty notice) because I cannot drive & she has been my appointment taxi.

You have very legitimate medical reasons to be excused. Your doctor will readily give you a letter probably permanently excusing you. Hope you improve quickly.

Sorry about the additional troubles. You're going through a lot as it is. Hang tough. Also, since you have to go through this crap anyway, might as well take the good parts too. Get yourself excused this time around.

Emailed the primary care physician this morning, I’ll see how long it takes the Dr. to respond. Then I will submit the deferment paperwork. I have a few weeks to the show up date.

Your Mush mouth reference cracked me up Bob. I could see it now:

"Heyba yourba Honorba, Iba saba thuba Somba Bibitch ibba gibblty! Hanga thuba Somba Bibitch! "

Yes it was meant to be humorous, but unfortunately that is what I sound like when I get frustrated and start talking louder & faster when someone can’t take the time to try to understand me.

When i was laid up the spouse called and they had me fax the dr. note to them. No running around, going here or there. A 1/2 hr task between phone call, fax and an email to verify excuse from jury duty.

Star Trek - TOS, season 2 episode 15.

I guess you could re-watch every episode in order on Netflix during your down-time. 3 Different actors to play the Dr. (if I remember correctly) and Spock getting less green over time.
